Thumbs up

Look what the DW brought back from one of her mystery 6hr browsing excursions. (men shop, women browse)

Cheep 5 bucks, magnet base, red flashing strobe, bright trouble and OK flash.

It was really a bribe as we were very late for a fun family eating adventure.

Florescent

Hi, just found this "Lumifier" florescent flashlight that has been hiding somewhere in our house for about twenty years.

Crank LED flashlights and lanterns

I am totally hooked on crank/wind-up flashlights at the moment. I am using them every night at the dog park and for night walks with my boy, and I love them. You crank them up for a bit and they last for quite a while. The LED bulbs are pretty bright and you never need batteries.

I am also about to buy a solar/crank/battery lantern from Amazon that is also a radio and charges a cell phone. Too bad it doesn't make coffee, too…

Flashlight: Amazon.com - 2pc Wind-Up Flashlight Set

Lantern: Amazon.com: Kaito KA249W Multi-functional Solar / Wind-up LED Camping Lantern with AM/FM NOAA Weather Radio & Cell Phone Charger, Color Black: Sports & Outdoors

Anybody have vintage flashlights?

I have a couple of the old EverReady floating lanterns, as well as a variety of the chrome steel flashlights. And one of the sealed beam Captains. Lots of great stuff in The Flashlight Museum.

Flashlights at Costco

I bought a pair of Feit Electric flashlights at Costco. About $20 for the pair. I have usuracelled these for over a year and NEVER replaced batteries. Very bright. I use them almost daily for walking my dog at night, going to ranger meetings, or just for walks.
They now sell Duracell 500 (China Chine 1333) for about the same price. Two levels of brightness + pulsing mode. I don't know how long the battery will last but Im guessing about the same.

I managed to resist those Duracell flashlights at Costco, because they use C-cells. I already have a couple of D devices and a bunch of AA and AAA. Anything I can use to talk myself out of more flashlights is a good thing.

I rationalize.....it's not really a flashlight.

Just amazon'd two new tubes for the nitelite in the Classics' bathroom.

Just saw this.

Was on sale at Amazon, but they ran out. Great idea.

Hi, like I really needed more flashlights. And I also resisted buying these. Then they went on sale for about $15.00 and no sales tax in Oregon; SOLD. These lights are really bright and the focusing is great. They go from a spot that is so focused that it starts out square like the LED and to a wide angle flood. All with no dead spots like you get with a bulb.

Hi, a few pictures showing the square beams, one with low power and the other on high. The wide beam wouldn't show in a picture because it goes really wide. [like the whole wall at a close distance]
