Firefox and the Foruum Question

I prefer to use firefox as my brouser but have not been able to use it with this forum.
I have heard that others are using Firefox and would like to do some trobleshoot with you if you have the time.
I have Firefox set to require confermation of Cookies before accepting them. If this is the problem it is unique to this forum as I have other forums using this forum software and not haveing the problem.
My first problem is that the forum requires me to sign in for every page and will not allow me to post. I can search and read using Firefox but if I want to post I have to use Internet Explorer. if you use Firefox you will know why I do not want to use Int. Ex.

Do you have Firefox set to remember passwords?

I have firefox set to allow sites to set cookies and remember passwords. I dont think i have ever encountered a problem like you are having that i can remember.

Howie,
I use FF. Other than the occasional odd misplace frame it works great. I have my cookies set to: "allow sites to set cookies", however I have a pretty massive set of ad blockers in place. Make sure you are running the latest version 1.5.0.3 should be it.

I'm also using FF without any problems. I have it set to allow site to set cookies. I'm not sure what your problem might be.

At one time I ran Firefox without problems. One day it stopped loading the little arrowheads that take you to the last post. Everything else still works. Can't fix it.

Now I use IE for airstreamforums, and FF for everything else.

Tools-Options-Privacy-Cookies tab-exceptions button- then enter the URL

that should work.

Another thing too, make sure to clear the cache and toss the stale cookies, some times they get corrupted, I have had to on occasion clear history as well to bring things back to a more normal state.

Neather of the last 2 messages had any effect. I still have to sign in for every page. Did as noted above and shut off computer and restarted, no effect.

Please keep thinking

I also am using Firefox with little to no problem. It seems like such a simple thing, but do you have FireFox as your default web browser? I don't think it would do what yours is doing, but it is worth a shot. Of course, our free advice is worth at least that much.

Yes Firefox is the default

Free advise is plentifull but somewhere in there may be the answer. No other approach has provided an answer yet, so keep it coming.

Well, this is just a guess, but some of the internet preferences can only be set through Internet Explorer. If I understant XP correctly, Windows firewall follows these settings. Your problem may not be with Firefox at all.

Well a little progress to report.

I did go in through Cookies and list the the base URL of
www.airforums.com as an allowed cookie. This had the effect of each time I go on the forum the log in information will be set and I can log in.

Now each time I change pages that screen will appear again with my information and I have to log in again.

What has changed is the fact that the log in information has been retained but I still have to log in at each page.

As for removing old Cookies, that is waht started this problem.

We are getting closer though. It clearly has to do with Cookies but witch one is needed tobe allowed has not yet been defined.
