Lightbulb That doesn't happen very often!

Did you know, that some members lurk in "stealth mode"? Not many, but a few...it's an optional toggled setting in your UserCP that makes you "invisible" to other members. Mods & Admins can still see these members, but other members can't.

Maybe I should of said it was my lowest number seen with myself and two others. I'm on the other side of the world so most of ya'll are asleep. Still, 3 people is a small group. It's a great time to catch up on posts - I never seem to have the time at home - at sea - I read them all. Now I wish I could solve the Tuesday Night Chat problem and join in.

Stealth Mode - gotta check into that.

Cool. Oops, I mean hot and humid? It's truly amazing you can get online at all. The Internet would have been something in Vietnam--without it all we could do was fly our butts off and spend the evenings in our spectacular squadron bar. How's your bar?

Nope, I'm on the surface in the WestPac. Life is great when the internet is up, now if we can just get the TV to work full time. Have to say - this is lots better than when I first started - I was lucky to hear my wife's voice once a trip - now I get to call anytime.

Like I said - there are usually 10 or more on line even late in the morning - just had to post the reduced number I saw last night.

Hey azflycaster - was that after a system restart? You had the run of the place. I like the early mornings - it's like reading the Sunday paper, just better news most of the time.

OK - Bed time for me - Nite

Mike

The time I was the only one logged on was right after a crash and burn. A few minutes later everyone was joining me.

I think only contributing members have stealth mode available (I could be wrong, though). I personally do not see a reason for stealth mode, but if the member/mod/admin feels better being stealthy then I guess it boils down to "whatever works".

The only problem is that the user profile does not indicate when the person was last logged in when the person has chosen stealth mode. So if members like Joe or Rodney or Alan should kick the bucket we may never know.

Oh, and I have noticed that although their usernames do not show up under "Online Users" or "Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread", the "members" count is incremented. One day I saw three members viewing a thread, and my username was the only one displayed.

I sometimes use stealth mode when I am 'here but not here' (and for my forum homeland defense duties......

Well now, that's it - the cats out of the bag now - ARE THERE JUST NO MORE SECRETS on the internet anymore....... Gen Disarray - you're in double secret probation - you will have to stand double watch cycles for the "forum homeland defense association" better known as the FHDA - sometimes confused with the FDA - just better..... never confused with the CIA.....
