OK...no more cool car stuff until we finish these Feathercrafts...gotta stay semi-focused.

Sewing seats today...hope for photos soon.
Man...those needle holes get smaller every day.

The boat show is scheduled for the last weekend in March. You can find more information at The Antique & Classic Boat Society. Go to the events section- it is run by the sunnyland chapter. It has a vintage boats and parts flea market. Usually between 300 and 350 vintage boats in the water on display. They have an amphibious car show, picnics, and dinners. They have vintage boats for sale. So if there is anything you are looking for, you can probably find it there.

HEY, is that a Chrysler product I see in the background? Perhaps a Challenger or Cuda?

I just saw this on ebay, a smaller Feathercraft center deck. Not as cool as the ones American and klattu are restoring, but still interesting.

FeatherCraft Boat, Center Deck, Runabout, Excellent - eBay (item 140213694471 end time Mar-15-08 15:00:00 PDT)

If I lived a bit closer, I'd think about taking a look.

That looks like it is in great shape, I'm with you, If I was 2,000 miles closer I would probably have the wife shaking her head again.!!

That speedo would look much better on my dashboard.
It hangs off the bottom anyway.
Bet the front/rear balance is interesting.
Must be made for speed.

Sure would look cool fixed up.

Measure once, sew twice

I just thought this was tough...sewing in the piping makes me take lots of breaks...

Took them out to boat for a trial fit.
(just could not wait)

awesome! I don't think I'll have the time to work on cushions for mine before April. I still need to get the wiring and steering sorted out. The cushions look great, though. How are you attaching them? snaps?

Yes, snaps across the backs.
Not sure about bottoms yet.

Steering and wiring ?...I may have to find a nice pair of rowing padles.
Going to be some long days until April.

do you have your steering hooked up yet? I need to get some bushings for the aluminum bulkheads, and string up my cables. I think I have all the parts, minus a few pulleys... Then I need to get the wiring all sorted out. I've got a new relay on the way, and hopefully a new dash plate with all the buttons this week.

My biggest problem is still the plug that goes into the motor. The pins don't line up correctly. I haven't found any plugs that fit my particular pin configuration, so I think I'll end up having to re-pin it somehow. The pins that don't work are the choke/kill... kinda important, should something go wrong, huh? :-D

Schematics

Steering is in a pile up under dash.
There is a long tube on mine that uses a firm rope for steering.
I like the idea of it not cutting thru, as a cable may.
So I'm sticking with rope.

Mines going to 'hot wired' I'm sure.
Not enough time to really do like it should be.

Choke ?
I'm going to be climbing back there a few times each morning.
Kill switch ?...more hot wiring. (maybe a bare wire I touch to dash)
A toggle switch if time.
I bet we have to put in a overboard kill ?
Better get lights, as MPs may want to look.

I'm starting to panic.

Crap..I still gotta get my numbers !

ha! ME TOO! I think you can get them at Walmart? I'm not sure what I need to get them. I guess just the SN?

speaking of decals.... in lieu of doing anything productive today, I figured out how to use my vinyl cutter and made my logo for the boat!
