This looks good. Really good.

American Sniper – Trailer – Official UK Warner Bros. - YouTube

Eastwood's the only guy who could make this movie.

Saw the trailer yesterday for that...does look like it has great potential.

Million dollar baby and Gran Torino could also make my list.

"You Ungrateful Ape"

Oh man, I'm dying to see this psychological thriller.

One critic described Steve Carrell's portrayal of John du Pont as "Norman Bates with a trust fund."

Now, if the local theatres out here in the sticks would stop showing crap and bring Foxcatcher to the big screen, sooner than later.....

Hmm

SO many titles to choose from.

Bridge over the river Kwai
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid
A Fistful of Dollars
Easy Rider
Toy Story 1 & Toy Story 3
Pirates of the Caribbean
The Dark Knight
The Birds
Lawrence of Arabia
Lone Survivor
Blazing Saddles
I would have to say these are just a few that come to my mind that are true "classics" IMHO. I could add many more.

Out of all of the movies listed above, the one that kept me on the edge of my seat, made me cry, made me laugh, totally engrossed me with the characters, and stirred every emotion within me, was Lone Survivor. Being a veteran, this movie touches every square inch of your soul. It will roust every milliliter of patriotic blood you have to give, for this great nation we call the United States of America. God bless all those who have, and are still serving this blessed nation.
Happy New Year my fellow AS'ers!

Action/adventure: True Lies
Comedy: Blazing Saddles
Drama: Forrest Gump
Cult Classic: Rocky Horror Picture Show
Family: The Lion King
Western: The Man Who Killed Liberty Valance
Horror: nope, I don't watch horror... I'll read a ton of Stephen King, but no thanks on the movies.

-Red, a real sissy when it comes to scary movies...

Fave

My favourite film is 'Down By Law' directed by Jim Jarmusch and starring Tom Waits, John Lurie and Roberto Begnini (and a very young Ellen Burstyn 'Not the boots Babe, not the boots'). It is the story of three characters in Louisiana that get into trouble with the law, each in very strange ways and not entirely their faults, and end up in prison, where they become friends, and then break out. In black and white, it seems really dark, but it isn't really, it has some very funny moments. One of the brilliant things about the film is that there are moments that could disintegrate into violence... but they don't. The beginning is brilliant, Tom Waits singing Jockey full of Bourbon (from Rain Dogs) and the camera panning down a long Louisiana street of shotgun houses, in black and white. LOVE IT!

Soylent Green

Just watched the classic "Soylent Green" again, with Charlton Heston, Edward G. Robinson, and Leigh Taylor-Young, made almost 50 years ago in 1973 about the future in 2023.

Eerily prescient IMO!

Available on Amazon Prime for $3:
