Explore USA Denton, Texas

I recently was told that Explore USA super center in Denton is no longer an Airstream dealership.

I went by Denton yesterday and did not see any Airstreams there. Maybe they moved to the Explore USA south of Ft. Worth. That is where the first mechanic, factory trained, moved to.

I noticed when I drove by on Labor Day weekend on the way to Wichita Falls that there were no AS to be seen at Denton, but figured they were following the lead of the Mesquite store. They moved their AS to the back of the lot about a year ago, but I called Mesquite a couple of weeks ago about something AS related and talked to the service department and they didn't say anything about not being a dealer anymore. I guess maybe a visit to the website might turn up some ideas. I do know that it seemed that Denton had lost some folks including the service manager over the past year and a half.

Well, a search of the ExploreUSA website turned up only one hail damaged 2012 at the Mesquite store. All other stores had a single sentence saying that they were awaiting new arrivals of this line of RV's. But I notice that Denton is no longer listing Airstream as one of the "quality" lines of RV that they carry. If they are not going to carry AS anymore it's going to make for serious slim pickings for AS in Texas both sales and service. Good thing Top is centrally located, so at least we have access to someone decent for repairs.

Ok this is bugging me, so I called the Denton sales dept.
I asked point blank if they are going to continue being an Airstream dealer. The fellow answering the phone said," We have only one trailer left a 25' Eddie Bauer, and when it sells we will not be getting anymore Airstreams, but will honor warranty claims".
I guess the service will be the same.??
I never had service done in Denton and only used them for the trailers yearly safety sticker.

If they have one left, anyone who is looking for an EB one might want to check on it. Two of us on here have purchased 25EB's from them in the last few months and their price was much better than we could do anywhere else.

All the more reason to be thankful for north dallas rv and A&P vintage trailers... Still best service options and certified AS repair. Whew🌻

So if we can assume that ExploreUSA RV as an entity is getting out of the AS business, what options are left in Texas? Bayer RV in Dublin, the much maligned Camper Clinic II and according to Airstream's locator on their website, Jack Sizemore's Travel Land in Amarillo.

The previous owner of our AS took it to Billy Sims in Lubbock for extensive work. Did this for 10 years. He owned 2 and did over 18 grand worth of repairs to both over this time period. Never used either one. After each repair he returned them to his barn. Retired wealthy individual who wanted to preserve a piece of Americana. After traveling most of 8000 miles in ours since July all the repairs that he did worked perfectly.
