Enkay flaps at Costco.com

Costco is carrying the Enkay flaps (the new design) for a great price of $179.00. Price includes shipping and handling.

I have them on my Hensley shank. Needed to do a little trimming on the collar of the Enkay to get it to sit flush with my truck bumper. (I didn't watn the longer shank from Hensley as the lifetime exchange policy does not apply to the extended shanks)

Ken,

What Craig posted above is correct. I only had to grind a small corner of my Enkay collar to clear the weld of the hensley stinger... The only other difference was the Enkay I have are the newer revsion that is a lighter weight chrome colored metal as compared to the previous heavier brass colored metal material they used before....

As noted in post 3 and 4 of Craig’s reference, my adjustment was only some filing along the rear edge of the collar. It seems the clearance for the sides of the dropbar are particular to every shipment.

This is a pretty good price on these. These fit snug with my Reese dual cam system. I only had to trim some of the lower mudflap off so that it wouldn't drag on the ground, even set to the highest setting.

I would also suggest to anyone getting these that they are NOT a subsititute for regular mudflaps. Some things can get by the Enkay flaps. I found that with a good set of mudflaps and the Enkay, that even on washboard type gravel roads, I've not had a ding or scratch caused by projectiles coming off my tow vehicle.

Just curious which type of mudflap are you suggesting here?

Also, is anyone aware if the new style mounting bracket can be trimmed to work with the Hensley? I only see references to the older style.

I have the new style chrome colored collar / bracket, and I did trim it to work with the hensley "stinger" shank.

Agreed - there is the gap between both flaps that the occasional rock will get thru. Some have put flaps under their reciever area in the center for this, but I'm OK with the coverage I have with the mudflaps on the rear wheels and the Enkays combo.

It really depends on what vehicle you have. Each vehicle tends to have different mounting methods to mount the basic mudflaps to the vehicle.

In my case, I bought the Chevy truck flaps and extended them with attached flaps to lower the blocking ability. My pops had just the standard flaps (no extensions or Enkay). We all met up boondocking in the woods after towing 30 miles on sandy, gravel, dirt type roads. His SOB was covered in the front with sand, dirt, water mist from the tires being in the crater puddles, etc. My Safari only had dirty water mist, and not a whole lot of it.

Between both, I don't get anything... now if my Enkays could only stop small thinks from oncoming trucks and of course bird droppings and bug splats!
