The choice today is mine... Worry about what I have absolutely no control over, or do something about which I can control nearly 100%. Fortunately it is my attitude I struggle with and not the outside issues. So, after I have beaten myself up, I decide it will just be a good day and go on....Msmoto...

...maybe a place to park?
And the earth quake in Mexico, California and Yellowstone swarms. Hope we get to Wisconsin to weather the next months. A total of 644,000 were unemployed in Michigan in March, 2009, compared to the 388,000 unemployed in March 20, 2008, and that's before the next 21,000 from Pontiac and its subsequent trickle down effect.
Stressors are up certainly.

Yes, Msmoto, you are absolutely right. Be responsible, take reasonable precautions against all known dangers, then get out there and live your life the best you can. No hunkering down, here.

Yep! My position got cut and in 10 more days I am officially unemployed. I refuse to get panicked though. I have some money set aside, and low overhead. Since I don't own a home I can really stretch out my money. I can also look for my type of work from anywhere with internet. So, how am I planning on coping? I am going camping. Oddly enough, I have discovered that traveling the way I do is actually CHEAPER than staying where I am. That means financially I am better off fishing my way through the crisis. With any luck something will turn up before the money runs out. I really feel lucky that I can not only weather my personal crisis, but do it in some amount of style.

Anybody old enough to remember the first Swine Flue pandemic of the 1970's? Do you remember that the gu'ment had a problem with the vaccine? They made all of us in the military take the vaccine to prove to the public that it was safe. It worked like a charm, I got sick as a dog (or is that a pig?). So, since I had it already, that means I can't get it again, right?

What You Can Do to Stay Healthy
There are everyday actions people can take to stay healthy.
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
If you get sick, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
And I am going to try to follow these when I pull out tomorrow for New Orleans and Houston...

Hi, number one on the list should be "Stay out of Mexico" There is nothing good down there and you get what you pay for. "The cheap comes out expensive" Swine Flu and whatever else you return with are what I call "Free Souvenirs". [my opinion]
Yes, I had the swine flu vaccine the last go round, never got sick from that, but now live in Southern CA. Several of my employees are planning to go to Mexico for vacation. i would love to tell them to stay home, but can only educate them, and hope they make the right dec
Wash your hands frequently, use wipes on grocery cart handles, and stay home if not feeling well. Handwashing is the number one defense against the spread of germs. Guess what I do for a living.

Avoiding contact with people is a very good strategy. That's why I am sitting in the customer lounge in Jackson Center with people who have come here from all over the country. No one looks sick yet.
