Eco-Friendly AS on Display in Red Wing, MN

Greetings All!

We will have our newly finished Eco-Friendly 1962 Flying Cloud on display in Red Wing, MN, on Saturday August 29th. We have done a complete reconstruction (see attached photos) which includes a complete solar power system, composting toilet, cork flooring, bamboo cabinets, and many other eco-friendly features. You can read and see more about this on our blog at: The Flying Cloud Eco-DiscoveryTour . In the meantime, if you are in the Red Wing area, and would like to see what we have done, we will be at:

The City Parking Lot

Corner of 3rd & Plum St. (By the big mural-Across from Liberty Restaurant)
9am-3pm

Hope to see you there!

John & Kate

Those are some great pictures. You did a great job. We are doing a total upgrade and planning on putting a sink like that in your bath. How did you connect it to the cabinet and how is it holding up with the vibration. I really like that look .
thanks

The connection was a bit of a trick, but it seems to be holding up quite well in spite of some pretty bumpy roads! I did it by adding a long threaded outlet pipe and then finding a nut that fit it. I had to shop around to get all the pieces. This tightened it down to the cabinet very tight. I also used a bead of silicone.

If that doesn't make sense to you, let me know and I will try and shoot a picture of it.

Best,

John

Is that a composting toilet? What are you ecofriendly aspects? We are going to be renovating a 30' sovereign soon and I'd like to make it eco friendly and sleek.

WOW, you did an AMAZING job! How eco-chic!
Your renovation is an inspiration. It's not just "Paint the walls and replace the carpet" anymore, you really set the bar on this one. I hope our next reno ends up looking like yours.
Thanks for the ideas and motivation!
