This is awsome....now if I could just find a solar powered SUV that can tow my 5500 pounds of trailer down the interstate , at 55 we'll be in great shape.
Brad,
If your starting from scratch and like the marine look, check out www.marinestove.com. These wood stoves are really cool, and the perfect size for an Airstream.

Thanks, buddy. Those are indeed pretty incredible looking! I'd bet we'd do a lot more camping in the great frozen north if we had one of those!! The installation photos are woooonderfully inspiring.
In the 80s the hot thing for hot rods was billet aluminum - door handles, knobs, just about anything you can imagine, milled to shape. They had a cool brushed finish, though I suppose they could have been polished back to a shine. Anyway, I suspect that might be a lot easier to get into than casting your own parts, and then you could start cranking out little one-off custom pieces.
Thanks, silver suz for the link. we sold Claire the Argosy...we always find it interesting to hear about people we have sold trailers too, especially new airstreamers...also glad to know they are doing just what they had planned...they are really nice people...Phyllis
