Ebay AC deal (scam)

I was searhing for an AC unit and found this dirtbag dealer, familyRvRepair.

NEW 2006 CARRIER 13.5btu Complete with lower unit for $379.

Looked like a fair price with factory warrantee etc. I wanted it shipped on my companies DHL account it is less money because of the volume business account than typical Ebayers charge.

So I asked if I could do that they said sure but its $45 for thier worker to take it off the shelf

Now is that a rip off or what, what they did is make their offer of sale lower to only get you on this $45 addon.

Anyway I suggest you stay away from these guys familyrvrepair, FAMILY'S don't rip you off!

I bought an AC unit from them last summer. They shipped a 13.5 Carrier to my door for considerably less than anyplace else I could find. I thought their service was excellent as well. Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience! --dave

I've bought two from them, they charged me the advertised amount, plus the $75 shipping anywhere in the US, as stated in their auction. Since I live in Florida where they are located, they paid half the sales tax. No $45 add on.

Well they have the $45 addon now and are sticking to it.

So it really cost $425 plus shipping.

Rooftop AC costs

I sell Pace American enclosed trailers.
My dealer cost for a Dometic 13.5K w/o heat is $750 in the box, shipping not included.
The least expensive brand I can buy as a dealer is $425 thru normal distribution channels. There are plenty of "deals" on the web and at prices well below what we pay & then have to pass on to customers.
If you can get a 13.5K BTU Carrier brand for under $500 I would consider that a blessing.

I got a Penguin 13.5, complete with the lower unit, heat strip installed, and the Comfort Control Center.

New in the box, all in except the freight, $450.

I didn't get it from the guys above, but from a RV manufacturer.

Palomino. It was part of a larger order that included a Dometic 2-door refrig, Suburban furnace and water heater, Sealand toilet. The freight was really inexpensive also.

Thanks Lou! (pattersontoo)

Family RV

Sorry Bob, but I have to disagree, I bought a carrier low profile from them this year and I found the service to be great. I can't argue about shipping cost if the overall price is better than you can get anywhere. It is not uncommon for people to make money on shipping and handling on Ebay. They also had a great deal on dc power supplies but they were almost gone a few month ago.
I highly recommend Family RV.

Remember eBay doesn't get a percentage of shipping & handling so there are 'deals' with .99¢ items but $17.50 shipping... I think eBay investigates those only when volume of sales picks up...
