Earthquake Rocks LA

Los Angeles was hit with a 5.8 earthquake at around noon today. The quake was centered near Chino Hills. Minor damage has been reported.

Let's hope our California friends are safe and sound.

Richard,

Thanks for the thoughts. Things are fine here in Orange, although I have not been home to see what glass I have to clean up. It did rock for quite a while.

I was downtown having lunch in Little Tokyo. Happen at 11:47 +/- am.
Felt like when your in a carnival ride with the floor pushing you up and dropping you down.

There were out of country tourist from UK, they thought it was cool to have an earthquake happen on their vacation.

Good thing Airstreams have suspensions.

I went though my first earthquake this past spring and I was in the Airstream at the time. What an exp that was.

I hear ya twink, I was asleep in my Airstream when that quake hit back in early spring. I thought someone was trying to steal my trailer!

We felt it strongly in Venice.

Our house shook and swayed for a very loooooooooooooong time......We heard something fall but we haven't found what it was yet......it was kind of scary. Hope nobody was hurt. Paula

Everything seems fine out here.

A little quake always adds some excitement to the day.

Rivet A home with a suspension is a good thing

At least trailers are built to move. Hope all are OK!!!

I have been through 2 earthquakes, but slept through both of them. I thought people were kidding me at first. One in TX panhandle and one in Little Rock. Both tiny events.

Way past due on the New Madrid fault, though. Not much danger to LR, but Memphis is pretty close.

Richard,

I now know why Sue and I moved to Arizona from Chino Hills, CA.

We avoided an epicenter underneath our home.

I have talked to several friends. This was a good shaker.

The news from Cal-Tech put this 5.4 in perspective. A training course for the big one.

My best to all California friends and the prayers that you were passed over from any damage.

Valencia has a trailer park? We're in Valencia also. P.M. if you need any info or local hints.
