We are fairly clear here now, big full moon sailing through sporadic clouds with a promise of snow and sleet beginning (again!) about 2 or 3 am. We should see the eclipse before the bad stuff arrives, per our weatherman. Luckily we can view it from comfortably inside the house 'cause it's too darned windy and cold to watch it outside! ~G

Overcast here in Tullahoma, TN. We are expecting a drop in temp and maybe some snow flurries overnight.

Cleared up here too, and I can see it coming up through the trees. I should have a good view in about 45 minutes. I'm going to try and get some pictures if I can.

The sky is Minnesota is as clear as crystal, thanks to an Arctic high. You can see the mountains on the edge of the moon.

I wish it was as clear as last night...

Here is another pic (taken at about 9:15pm). Had to move the tripod, the moon is rising right into a tree .

At 9:22pm. It's getting darker, and I had trouble finding my tripod in the yard .

It looks like some breaks in the clouds are coming... I see stars behind me. Maybe that's just from looking up so much...

Here is another shot, taken at about 9:32pm. I see the whole outline of the moon too.

I also see the several random color pixels from the 7 year old digital camera. But the 10x zoom really pulls in the distant objects, which is why I bought it for my Alaska trip in 2001.

Ok, last pics for me, I had a difficult time even finding the moon in the viewfinder. Hopefully, someone with better camera and weather might post some pics too. These were taken at about 9:45pm.

And by the way, thank you Alumatube for the thread! I would have liked to get a picture of the moon reflecting off our Airstream, but it's not polished...

our Airstream, that is.

Phil and/or Sue: They may not be a prime lunar eclipse viewing photos, but he ones with the clouds are very nice. I like them.
