Display my art/furniture design in your airstream--San Diego

Hello Airstreamers, thanks for your interest! I'm currently a grad student at San Diego State University's Furniture Design Program and am currently focusing my work on folding furniture and accessories for living in small spaces. My work can be seen at www.christyoatesdesign.com. I'm currently working on my thesis and my thesis art exhibition, which is scheduled for December 5th, 2009 at San Diego State's Flor Y Canto Gallery. I have always admired the Airstream trailer and would LOVE to own one someday, but until I can, I would like to borrow yours, with compensation, of course.

More information at christyoatesdesign

Thank you so much for looking, please send this on to your S0-cal airstream friends, much appreciated!!
-Christy

Christy, those are some pretty interesting things. I like the overflow series and the sweetheart sweater, lol. and the folding furniture looks fantastic. What cool ideas and pleasing livable art.

Thumbs up Great concepts!!!

Christy,

Love your work.
Have you considered contacting the Factory, They could use your input. Also it might be worthwhile contacting some of the dealerships in your area. Calif. has some very good restoration facilities that may be interested in your design talent.

Please keep us posted on your progress.
Good luck!!

Thumbs up

Sweet designs Christy.

I'd offer up my rig but it's a little to farty and cluttered.

I see where you want to go, and hope someone here can facilitate your vision.

I really like the chair and table.

Good luck and keep us all posted!

Honestly...not likely. They tend to be a little too full of themselves. But with your talent it's worth a try.

A dealer in your area may be a better option. If the installation is temporary, what have they got to lose, free exposure in a down market. It's not like they don't have any in stock.

Hi Christy! I might just be able to help you out. My little old trailer is far from perfect, but it does have lots of character and lives right here in San Diego! Shoot me an e-mail address where you'd like me to send you some pics! John

That would be great, John! You can send pics to oates@rohan.sdsu.edu, or email me your phone and I can just come take a look this week since you live in town! I really appreciate it!

Cool!!!

Hope everything comes together for you. Great Art Department here at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) and there is a lot of stuff in the students' competitive show that is incredible! I'm glad that I'm not a judge.

Everything I have seen if yours is absolutely first class!

Great to see it.

Hope you do well,

My great friend Mia Hall teaches at the U of Little Rock in their new furniture design program! You better believe there's some great work coming out of there!
Glad you like my work!

Christy, I love your work and would just be estatic to have your work in our Princess, unfortunatley we are in North Carolina, which I am sure you are aware is the premier center for furniture. Best of luck with your designs!
