Digital Books - Kindle vs Sony Reader

I've been eyeing these digital books for quite some time now, and have finally gotten a Sony Reader Digital Book. Absolutely LOVE it.

(I have to inject here that I can't get the Kindle here in Canada, so it really wasn't a decision between the two formats).

I'd be interested in hearing others' experiences with their digital books, what kind they have, or if anyone has a Sony (I've got a PRS505 and a PRS700).

When I get ready for a longer camping trip, I used to put some thought into what books I'd be bringing. Invariably, there would be at least 5-6 good-sized books strewn around the AS, sometimes more. Books take up quite a bit of space, don't they?

This sort of technology would be right up campers' alley I thought - why not bring ALL your books with you on a camping trip?

We bought a Kindle and Patty just loves it. Both are proprietary formats so you can't share books. We know that Amazon keeps records of what you have bought and will allow you to download a book again at no charge if you delete it. I looked at various reviews and felt the Kindle had an edge.

My own experience with Sony products has not been stellar. Like anything else the question may ultimately be sales and who sells the most. I'm guessing that Amazon will win out. Especially now that Oprah has sung the praises of the Kindle.

I have heard nothing but good reports on the Kindle product. I read a lot while we are out with our stream so this is under consideration for our family. Good to hear the reports on these items. We have had pretty good luck with Sony products so I'll have to do some research on it also.
Thanks for the info.
