Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Did you all hear Jr. left DEI and has now signed with Michael Waltrip Racing?

I'd heard two years ago that he wasn't getting along with his stepmom Teresa and wanted out on his own.

I still think King Richard was the best ever (just don't say that too loudly around Mooresville.....)

Yes but he signed with Michael Waltrip because he decided he didn't want to work weekends

So is Michael Waltrip gonna give him 51%, like he wanted from Teresa?

I doubt it. The jokes on her and you and me! I would have ditched her long ago but respect his respect for the name. He did it right to give it a chance in his father's honor. We will never know if Dale Sr. would have wanted it different and that's what makes it special and controversial.

I cant find any evidence of this, does any body have a link to some proof?
I would think that this would be front page of the sports section and there would be plenty of buzz around the office, at least my office where Nextel racing is priority one!

Nothing at all on NASCAR.com about this. I cannot imagine Jr. going to that enterprise. Toyota has a L O N G way to go with their program and I feel it's doubtful they will stick with it in it's current form. Just my $0.02 worth.

Agreed

At least there is some official news out there......

RCR engine shops merging with DEI. Now that could have some influence on where Jr. lands. A lot of folks would like to see Jr. parking at RCR.

This is an unfortunate situation with JR and His step mom. Dale senior wanted his kids to inherite His racing business according to DW. However that not the way He left things legally before He died. Theresa is NOT a very good business person according to everything I have read over the years. She was Seniors second wife and MISS NASCAR, thats how they met. Then Dale SR got a devorce and married Theresa. Its a mess....She hired people to run Her business for Her and this is what they are advising Her to do. Her saving grace now the Jr is leaving is the fact that she is merging with RCR. But wait....there is more to the story. This about this...DEI and RCR merging. And I am taking it to the bank the Jr will drive for RCR next year. Buy the way...Budweiser has already said they will leave DEI and to with JR. This could get interesting. I read some time ago that Dale SR. left DEI to His kids in a will. However stipulations in the will left the Business to Theresa untill she see fit to turn it over to the kids. Lawyers have made a mess....and a lot of money off Theresa. I read on a web site just after SR. died that theresa immediately tried to take full controll of DEI and has lawyers intervien so that JR could not be a legal owner. Remember....she is not the kids mother. She does not intent to ever give up DEI. But without JR...I am sure if will not be the 75 million dollar annual revenue that is it now. DEI has made Her a very wealthy women. I got most of my info from a columist that used to write for a newspaper in Fla. He predicted this 5 years ago. It just took longer to happen than He exspected. THIS IS GOING TO BE INTERESTING. and as for driving for Waltrip,,,,a..they are good friends...but...chevy wants jr. bad. But toyota has the MONEY. TOYOTA has spent a hundred million..ya ...that much on Waltrip racing. And HE has only made one race. The other two drivers are struggling too. Wonder how long the sponsers will put up with this???
