Red face Crotchety old men

All this halibilue going on about the National and all the coments about the old guard not willing to change etc - etc caused me to look back over my posts and to my surprize, the posts showed me the profile of a crotchety old man. Me, David Alan, why I'm as nice a fellow you might want to meet, a crotchity old man? no - it can't be - someone else must be writting this dribble.

Sometimes I guess we get in a rut and say things that just don't need to be said. I may have been right some of the time but my posts just didn't add anything to the thread. Didn't help - didn't resolve - didn't do much of anything but paint a unattractive picture of myself. For that I am sorry.

So I say to you, fellow forum members, I'll try to do better. Maybe old guys can change. I really like the forum and all of you who make it up. There may be afew others on the forum that should sit back and review their posts and see what kind of picture they paint

David Alan,

You are totally correct, we should all take a deep breath and thing before posting to an emotional thread. I thought about posting several times, but could not think of anything constructive to add. I am still confused about the resolution.

Bill

Crotchety old men

Did someone call me? .... I'm usually relaxing amongst the brambles and briars, munching on rose stem thorns.

Is that you Fred? I wondered who was making all the noise in the next patch over.

Perhaps the old rule for letters would be good here. Write three posts and discard the first two!

If it wasn't for crotchity old guys like all of you, not very much would have been done in the history of the United States.....I love ya.

By the way, my crotchity old guy is in the trailer getting ready to lay the rest of the floor... I stay away while he is in one of his "moods"...

Excellent point. I acknowledge that many times I should probably be more introspective in my posting, and that I also should probably limit my posting to before happy hour.

DavidAlan,
Karma to you for recognizing something about yourself that you can change. We have all made posts that we later regret, not all of them have been deleted or edited when perhaps they should have been.

Hail, Wally, full of grace,
the stream be with thee. (and also with thee)
Blessed art thou amongst designers,
and blessed is the fruit of thy genius,
for thou hast given Shine to the Air of our dreams,

spectales, testacles, wallet, cigars.

Thank you for sharing this insight. As I am new to this forum, I will learn from your trials and pledge to post constructively, and never post after happy hour .

You are a great group of folks and I think you really mean well. Your generosity to others can be seen by all who cruise this forum and it is appreciated by this crotchety old Gal .

I just spent a week with a pack of crusty, rusty, old farts. I was sooooooo glad that I am not one and managed to point this out to them on several occasions when they were disagreeing with me on some point or other where I knew I was right and the whole pack of them were wrong. Geesh, some times it is hard to be around when every one of them is grouchy and I'm the only one who is in a great mood all the time. Just ask my wife - well, maybe don't, she might want to get even for that "honey, do you think you've put a bit of weight on during this trip?" comment I made earlier today.
