Comet McNaught

I know this is totally off topic, but it is worth the trouble.
Has any one else kept up with this spectacular comet. Only visable to those in the southern hemisphere, darn it, those lucky bums. I have been checking the images on spaceweather.com/comet /McNaught, for weeks now. I am so envious. I am not one to envy others for anything, but I am many shades of green over this celestial occurance. Check it out you will love it.

Me too! I saw the pictures before it started around the Sun. It was viewable then at extreme northern latitudes. So I haven't check in a couple of weeks, has it made it's way around the Sun? I'm hoping it will come into view after a few weeks.

Bob-

Very cool site! Definatly worth checking out. Yes, us up here in the northern parts miss some cool stuff. I would love to see someone post a photo of Nothern Lights reflecting off their AS!

There is usually a new page added every couple of days, so I go back often.

Yes, it is a southern hemisphere item now and is barely visible at all now. It is really a done deal.

Not a done deal at all. The photos are still there and worth the time for anyone who likes this kind of stuff.

Well, yea, I meant if you wanted to actually see it. I am disappointed that I missed it. I was either working or it was cloudy. No luck.

So, I guess the question is, will it remain a Southern Hemisphere object? I poked around over on Learn More at Space.com. From Satellites to Stars, NASA information, Astronomy, the Sun and the Planets, we have your information here. to try and find a track for it, but they kind of end about mid-January.

I missed it, it was cloudy from the time I heard about it until it disapeared into the southern-hemisphere-only viewing. I guess I still have my memories of Hale-Bopp to keep me happy until the next one comes along

It has pretty much faded from view. There is some great information on WIKIPEDIA.

I saw it in Minnesota last month. It was low in the southwest sky right after sunset. It seemed to be going away so there was little movement. It looked like the brightest planet in the sky.
