They sure had a big shootout with Missouri this year. Probably the best 4 tight ends in college ball were playing that game.

Texas Tech gave Mizzou 21 points on a platter....not my definition of a shootout...but if it works for you, ok.

Turnovers are just part of the game. MU capitalized on TT's mistakes and won the game.

Hey, I'm a Cincinnati Bearcat alumni fan but that does not say much for football. At least they beat Rutgers this year and exposed the level of that conference. I grew up a Purdue Boilermaker fan. Now I owe some allegiance to the schools my children attended--University of Minnesota, University of Wisconsin, University of Wyoming and Oregon State University. I guess since I taught a few years at the University of Minnesota Extension College and they being the local team, I kind of live and die with those Gophers. They haven't been the same ever since the Vikings came to town and sucked up all the support.

Go Bucks! I began my coaching career at OSU 33 years ago as a JV Soccer Coach. Woody was the coach and Archie was running wild. Jim Tressel is a great coach, well grounded and is a developer of young men. He has restored the Buckeyes to compete, with class, against the best of them. One more win and this team will go down as the best in OSU history (#1 from preseason to the final poll, Big Ten Champions, Heisman Trophy winner and (hopefully) National Champions. Tressel has a knack for keeping the boys focus where it needs to be, the task at hand.

Two best games of the bowl season thusfar have been in the Phoenix Metro area at Tempe (Insight Bowl) and Glendale (Fiesta Bowl).
Both games went OT.
Dare we hope for such a game when Florida and tOSU play?

The Sacred Heart School of Theology- Holy Redactors is my team but they did not make any of the bowls games again this year.
Now to mention a little known team, # 6 in the country, who beat Arkansas yesterday and only has one loss and that was to Michigan and now has a better record than all of the other teams in the BCS other than Ohio, The Wisconsin Badgers.

The BCS is not fair. It seems that the rankings and the media always have this bias toward the big name teams. A team could have a similar schedule to a Florida, a USC or an Ohio State, have just as good a record, but be way lower in the rankings. During a game, you have to listen to commentators talk about the great season the other team has then when the non-big team starts doing something amazing it is considered a miracle or a fluke rather than skills and feats of strength. Sometimes it gets so bad we have to turn off the sound and turn on the radio if we want the commentary.

Best Rose Bowl quote which took place the last time we (Washington) were in the Rose Bowl..."The temperature on the field is...uh....hot." Keith Jackson ABC

BSU or BSyou!

I'm not much of a football fan anymore, BUT I must say I did watch the entire Tostitoes bowl yesterday. Without a doubt the most entertaining game I've ever seen. I like to see the little guys win. And when the Boise fans were taunting the OU fans with the BS you , well that was to much!

As a third generation graduate, and my son a freshman there now, I am proud to say The Ohio State University. My Grandparents met there, my parents met there and my wife and I met there. Look out son...

Question

I gotta say Notre Dame. My wife grew up in South Bend where her family has had season tickets for over 50 years. She graduated from there in '81 and has been home for 3 games this season. I'm not such a rabid fan so they don't waste one of the three tickets on me I get to stay home with the kids...who are dutifully becoming rabid fans.

I tried to explain the BCS to a co-worker yesterday and failed. I think I said that some bowl games will always host the winner of a conference but then they can invite whomever will attract the most sponsor/TV money to the game. Other games must be played between the leaders of 2 different conferences, and finally the national championship rotates from bowl to bowl and always includes #1 and #2. Of course you may not agree with the rankings which are often controversial because they are completely subjective. Am I anywhere close?

Steve

Who is the only division 1A head coach that has never lost a game?

Go Chris Peterson, Go Boise State!! It's been a fun ride the last four years (I am a BSU season ticket holder).

I really wanted to go to the Fiesta bowl, but chose to put the money into my two year rebuild of Spiffy Gem instead. I want to have it usable sometime this spring or early summer.

Rest assured, however, that once the Gem is usable, I will be taking it to a bowl game!!

For me, go RED RAIDERS. Still the best Ole Miss matchup I ever saw with Eli at the helm for you guys.
Happy New Year!
