Christmas Spirit/ apology

Something happened to me today that made me realize that I have been messing up on this forum. I was in Chickfilet and I had my kids w/ me and had just ordered and the cashier told me my total and I realized I had left my wallet at home, dohhh. Well the lady behind me said I'll pay for it, I of course thanked her but politely refused twice and was gathering the kids to leave when she placed her hand on my arm, looked me in the eye and said please let me do this. She was looking at me in a way as to say I need to do this. I relented and a smile came to her face as she paid the cashier for our food. I realized that I needed to pay this act of simple kindness forward as maybe she had done. It also made me realize that I have been acting somewhat petty on this board by arguing with people about things that won't be changed on this board and I was probably doing it for my own benefit. This was wrong not just at Christmas time but everyday. It's one thing to debate topics but to do so only so I can feel good about winning an argument isn't right and I apologize. Merry Christmas to all.

mrmossyone,

I haven't followed the threads wherein you think may have been behaving less than perfectly.

It shows a lot of class to apologize when you feel you've been wrong.

Hat's off to you.

mrmossy,

i also haven't been following the threads you're referring to.

but i really enjoyed your story at chikfilet today and that's what it's all about, helping one another out. it's not easy admitting when you're wrong, so hats off to you.

have a merry christmas and keep that kindness coming all year long

He is referring to me.

I too have strong opinions that do not always overlap the rest of society. With so many of us participating in this forum there is sure to conflicting perspectives. Often two people can read a sentence and perceive that sentence totally different. If you are thinking that I need an apology, well my friend you ARE wrong (this time). You have nothing to apologize for. You actually have gained even more respect by thinking differently than me. The fact that you felt concerned you might have offended someone shows a sensitivity that is needed more in our society. You have nothing but love from me. I hope we can have opposing opinions again, maybe that way WE can evolve the way WE perceive things.

I wish you a joyous Christmas and hope your family has many more to come. By the way, that toy box you made is beautiful. If you are ever looking for a woodworking job, let me know.

the power of DUH

Heck, the dictionary definition of "forum" has - "a public meeting place for open discussion".

How will I know about the things that are important unless everyone gets to render their opinion?

Besides, how could any one with an Argosy and a Hemi be out of place?

and if that isn't good enough - as far as I know, the first amendment has not been repealed.

A Happy Aluminum New Year to you!

What a great story and thank you for sharing. It is often during the holiday season we all hear stories that have touched our heart. We should make an effort for "paying it forward" throughout the year.

Karma to you MrMossy and have a great new year.
