Christmas in the Airstream!

Is anyone else obsessed enough to spend Christmas in their Airstream? This is a first for us. We will spend 3 nights and 4 days in ours at San Antonio Lake(North Shore) in central California.

We will spend the day kayaking on the lake, cooking a standing rib roast with all the fixins, and will watch the Christmas Story DVD...got to watch the kid shoot his eye out .

We have an 18" christmas tree for inside the AS, a wreath for the door, and lights galore! Of course a nice warm fire be invilved and good friends to help spread the cheer!

Can't wait!

I got my '04 Safari on December 17th. Though we didn't spend Christmas in it, we did welcome the new year 2005 in it.

Hi, Slowolf. Enjoy your Airstream Christmas. We have not yet been able to do this yet due to work and vacation times. My wife just retired and I am at home temperarally handi-capped due to surgery. So a mental picture of your Airstream Christmas will be as close as we will get, But for those who join you, I would love to see pictures of your decorated Airstreams.

Almost

I will have ours in the driveway. Then , day after Xmas or so I will drive it over to the campground at the Coast Guard base in Petaluma. I plan on spending the rest of the holidays there (wife has to work - her job is on base).

Christmas in Lucy

We will be spending Christmas in Lucy. We are headed to Jacksonville on Wednesday (12/20). We will set Lucy up in Daddy's back yard (where we have full hook-ups) and stay there until the 27th.

Christmas home, but NEW YEARS!!!!!!!

New Years is quickly getting to be a AS Holiday. Last year we went to Carlesbad and stayed a week. Weather in the 70's daytime and low 40's at night - nice and cozy in our AS!!! LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!

This NewYears is shapeing up to be a trip to SilverCity NM - supposed to be a great ARTSY town. THe Gila Cliff Dwellings Monument is there also. Average temps in the high 50's/low 60's and then in the 40's overnight.

Any other destinations that folks have planed for this time of year?

Christmas and the New Year!

Yes! We will be spending Christmas and the New Year in our Airstream. We have been planning this trip quite some time and looking forward to spending time away (doing anything but work).

We will be attending a college bowl game in Birmingham, ALA (Go Bulls!) and then going to Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile, ALA.

Even though we will be out of town for Christmas we plan to continue our tradition of having Chinese for dinner (think Christmas story... Fah, Rah, Rah, Rah, Rah...) and going to a movie - probably Charlotte's Web

We envy you all - up here, we're winterized and will not use ours until April. We probably won't see the sun until May! We WILL, however, be using our SofTub a lot until then!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Sounds like fun! We are obsessed enough to spend New Years Eve in our Airstream this year.

AirBus is in the shop today getting the genset working properly. We will be heading out to Grandma and Grampa's house in the Twin Cities on Christmas morning with ten of us aboard. Regretably, we have to return that night as I have to open the jewelry store bright and early on the 26th. It should be a better trip than the last quickie when the coach batteries died at 3 in the morning leaving me with no heat in 10 degree weather.
Ah, the fun of learning the quirks of a new old coach.
New batteries, clean connections and a running genset should make for a great trip.
Now, what else can go wrong....... DON'T ANSWER THAT!!!

Cindy and I want to wish all of you a blessed Merry Christmas. May all your travels be safe and all your loved ones be well.

JB

I'm more than a little jealous of those of you who get to spend Christmas (or New Years) in your Airstream. I would find that infinitely preferable to spending the day at the in-laws...

Have a great time everyone!

"Is anyone else obsessed enough to spend Christmas in their Airstream?"

Well, yes! Both Christmas and New Year's! In our "new" 1990 LY.

Haven't decided where for Christmas, but Grassy Pond (USAF campground near Valdosta, GA) for New Year's has become a family tradition.

Enjoy!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We are winterized too, but will be warming up the toaster as a guest house for my brother over Christmas. Then taking Maxwell up to Rocky Mountain National Park (Estes Park) for New Year's weekend. No water or sewer hook-ups this time of year at the campground but we'll use the facilities there and bring our own jugs of drinking water, paper plates, our Nick & Nora flannel sheets, a down comforter, lots of propane and plenty of holiday cheer! Spending it with some other crazy Airstreamers. High temps expected to be upper 20's/lower 30's lows in the teens...

We'll be spending Christmas in our Airstream at Lake 'O the Pines in Northeast Texas. Hopefully we'll have good weather - otherwise we'll be shuttling back and forth to the casinos in Shreveport!
