Cheesy key ring
Attention: Jackson Center- the little Jackson Center key ring that comes with new trailers is pretty much useless. It comes apart too easily in my pocket leaving the keys all loose in my pocket. The keys also come off too easily in the console of the pickup. The key ring has been ditched for one of the old style round key rings that I have to spread open and work the keys around the circle. Them keys ain't getting' off tha ring.

It does help in finding the opener though.

A brand new trailer, and he complains about a key ring.
May that be your only problem.

Andy,
I want one of those... I also need a couple of those plastic swing away clips that hold the electrical sockets in place...

Andy,
Sorry... didn't intend to hijack this thread. What I was referring to is the 120v wall plug in the bedroom of our 2009 27'FB International. I was planning to swap out the stock 120v wall socket with one that also has 2 USB charger outlets for our iPads and iPhones but found out they were too deep to fit in the space between the outer and inner skins. While reinstalling the original plug socket I broke one of the two clips that holds the 120v socket plate tight against the interior wall. I believe they are called a "pawl for flush mount speed wire sockets" a friend of mine also referred to it as a plastic swing clip. I called Inland RV and the woman who answered was going to talk to you about this
Thanks for your help,

FYI that was not the only problem. There was so much damaged or broken by the factory or dealer that I almost didn't take delivery. I don't think it is too much to expect or great expectations for everything to be just right in a trailer this overpriced. The reason for paying 5 times as much money for this trailer than I paid for my previous other brand trailer was to not have these problems. Don't get me wrong, I love my trailer. As the most expensive thing I have ever bought in my life I was hoping for a little closer to just right. I do think Jackson Center could come up with a better key ring. I also wish there was a switch to turn on the water heater in the kitchen, but I'm sure there is a good reason why there is not.

m.hony,
A short read to inform that your not alone.
Some progress has been made but 'kinda sad that QC issues are still apparent since that thread was locked.

A "PDI", (pre-delivery inspection) is supposed to be done by the dealer, prior to delivery.
That then brings to the surface whatever problems there might be, so that they can be corrected, prior to delivery.
Airstream certainly has no problems paying for those corrections.
But, unfortunately, some dealers really care, and some do not.
The choice is always the customers when purchasing, besides the selling price.
Cheap selling prices usually, but not always, is a good sign of minimal servicing.

The dealer is paid to check out everything, so whatever they sell the trailer for is independent of the final check out. But our dealer didn't care either. You are absolutely correct that Airstream and the dealer should get it right the first time—the key ring is a symbol of that carelessness.

How 'bou I sell you the key ring for 10 grand and keep the trailer? I don't necessarily plan to get rid of the key ring. I just ain't gonna keep keys on it. It is more of a keepsake or souvenir than something to keep up with some keys.

The dealer waited till I got there to begin dealer prep. I was there all day. I called the dealer Monday afternoon to tell them I would be there at 8:00 to pick up the trailer. In my mind I thought they would have all day Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to get the trailer ready. I also think the trailers should be prepped before they are put on display. This dealership had units on display in various stages of disrepair and dirty- even $200,000 motorhomes.
