Celebrate Twelfth Night

Twelfth Night, the eve of January 5, is in English folk custom the end of Christmas merrymaking and in ancient Celtic tradition the end of the 12-day winter solstice celebration. On Twelfth Night, it was customary for the assembled company to toast one another from the wassail bowl. In Old English, wassail means "Be in good health," but the term also was applied to the drink itself (usually spiced ale).

So that must be where the 12 days of christmas song comes from. Can't imagine celebrating for 12 days!

......So much 4 the Celebratin 2 GOOD HEALTH....All my D/W & 3 D/Ds & D/S are laid up with a BUG...some strain of flu...there is Only the Pup & Myself who R still OK, ( Touch-Wood )...LOL, No NOT a laughin matter realy...I feel sorry 4 them, it's the " Sick leadin the Sick "...Only I bn eatin as normal, they can't even Think abt food or drink...One D/D came home from work on tuesday not feelin 2 good, now the 5 of 'em got it... Jus hope I don't, certainly SPICED up my nite 2 nite....I feel like Miss Nightingale...or should that be " MATRON "... We got more boxes of tissues than Wal Mart...& medicines/pills/cough sweets Etc: Etc;, like a Chemist over here...
But I Luv 'em 2 bits, & aint that what Dads are for ? !...mendin things...LOL...Chris.....

Hello, Nurse Nightengale! Good health to you while you care for the miserable ones-and a happy Twelfth Night to you too! About the Christmas traditions, which cannily connect onto the old Winter Solstice traditions, doesn't this lead up to January 6, Epiphany, commemorating the arrival of the Three Kings bringing gifts to the Christ Child in Bethlehem?

I think I remember celebrating for 12 days, but we called it Spring Break...Lots of ale, too!

Good Mornin Guys....
What do U do if U no longer want something...give it away ???...Well that's what I recon My Family has done 2 Me...I ACHE all over & I can't see 2 good, let alone hear...My hips r kinda pullin the rest of My body downwards...& do I get any Sympath from the rest of the family...NO I DON'T....My D/W says I should have a Baby...then I'll kn what pain is...lol........I've got one of those little tickly coughs....& it's kinda funny how it jus kicks in when I abt 2 drink my coffee...I guess I spilled most of it, I hate waistin good Coffee... It may NOT b " Yankie Girl " or that stuff they serve at " Mc. Ds " lol....but it sure wakes Me up in the mornin, except 4 2day...Grrr.......
It's very Windy this mornin, & funny how it reminds Me our trip 2 Beautiful BOSTON this time last year, it was -14 & 35mph winds...& jus thinkin abt it is kinda makin Me Ache MORE...Gosh I must b gettin OLD. sayin that I'll soon b 52...feels like 152...lol...It's Moms B/day on the 12th, 81 Bless her, & she a lot fitter than I R....Well I gonna find My Nurse & C if I can drum up a lttl Sympathy, well If I don't feel sorry 4 Myself...NO-One else will...Oh ! The Pup loves Me, only 'cos I take Him out...LOL....Take care now, say How many of U STILL got some TURKEY left...LOL...Chris.....
