Why three days ago my name was orange then last night my name was colored purple and the gold rivets and contributing member were under it and today my name is back to boring blue and rivets and cont. mem. is gone? Did I offend someone? What's up? Ed

Hey BIGED,Andy explains it here,
.................................................. ............................................
My choosing the name "contributing member" was a bad choice since we have so many members that contribute in many different ways. I have change the name to "Supporting Member".

I have removed the username color so that members who do not want to be identified as financial supporters can blend in. There was no way to keep the usergroup color and have the "opt out" feature work together.

Mine is the same as yours, the golden rivet is still there, but the other stuff is gone. I guess the moderators made some mass change.

Mike, I went to my profile page and there is no "opt out" tab in edit profile as Andy has suggested in that post. I wondered way? Still unsure what's up! Ed

Ed,I included the link to the thread in my previous post on this thread. If you look at the last post today by Andy it should clear things up.If not,I'm sure a Mod will be more than happy to help you out.

This was the subject of a huge thread back in December and after much input the current appearance was what was settled on. It's just taken this long to get it set up right on the server. Sorry if anyone got used to the orange names but that was a temporary trial balloon that lasted about 6 weeks and we're not going back there.

I believe the long, complex December thread started because somebody actually asked about the "shinier rivets" (tongue in cheek!) that were promised as part of the supporter program.
We return you to other Airstream discussions already in progress...

Optios
Bob, It's not the Orange colored name I mind losing as much as why the "opt out" option is not available to me and why was my Contributing Member tag line was removed and others here still have it. I was a contributor to that long (6 page) thread which Andy added to today but is still closed so I can't ask a question like this on it! It is okay with me if you take all recognition as conributors away but do it for everyone! That's the only fair way to do it. At least someone could answer my questions, I am not an unreasonable person but I do take offense to being ignored! Ed

I like the simple approach. The basic premis of the forum is the absence of a hierarchy, just the simple sharing of ideas and experiences. Supporting member simply means I value the fourm enough to contribute a couple $$s to it's operation.

We're still figuring it out! For some reason users without avatars had different display options. Think it's fixed now - hope....

I agree...
David, I agree completely, however I do take offense when I ask legitimate questions regarding ongoing changes and get a snub ya type answer! I am not illiterate and I do read most of the postings here on the forums. To date I have been very satisfied with content herein and even like reading from the posts of folks upset with vendors. Thank goodness Janet was lurking and took care of the issues I asked about. She just PM'd me again to answer more of my concerns so I will send this in and go read it! Thanks for listening, Ed

That good Ed, considering we are pushing the 20K membership number, I think things are running pretty darn smooth.
