What a fun thread! Before we moved to Iowa, there were many summer drives from LA and MO to check on the farm. As a kid, I just didn't get the beauty of vast seas of corn and oats. Burma Shave signs made the journey much more fun. Ahhh, nostalgia!

the airstream
was long
and towed
with a truck.
so give a
wide birth
don't follow
too close, or
press to pass
and press
your luck.
cheers

Try this one....
Saw a silver trailer miles up ahead...
Sped up just to catch it...
Found a milk truck instead!

I wish I could say that this was true.
It took forever
to polish my rig
now that it's done
I'm dancing a jig.
Rivet Shave
And another one along the same lines.
Now that the trailer
is nice and shiney
I need a beer
and a seat for my hiney.

inspired by another thread...
http://www.airforums.com/forum...25-post14.html
while in his chair
the rivet bucked
and what it grabbed
was just bad luck
this hurt much more
than any tack
so now he's lying
on his back
burma shave...
cheers

Arizona uses these type of signs to warn motorists of elk. One set goes like this:
I saw an Elk
Oh what a thrill
until I smashed it
on my grill
