'Burb 3rd seat seatbelt

Thanks to three different Ebayers, I now have a third seat for my '84 Suburban tow vehicle. The seat installation went fine because the bed had stamped indications of where the seat mounts were supposed to be.

The problem is that in 1984, one part of each outboard seatbelt was mounted to the wheel well, and there are no marks on my wheel wells to indicate the right spot.

I figure it is somewhere in the red box in the picture below. While I can probably wing it, I'm hoping someone has a similar vintage Suburban, and can share some good words or perhaps a picture.

Thanks,
Tom

One kind soul provided this picture of a similar vintage Suburban (not his). I thought the seatbelts bolted to the wheel well. This picture could be interpreted that the belts are mounted to the floor.

Anyone know the right answer?

Thanks,
Tom

I can't get to www.ck5.com right now to ask (company firewall) but I'm sure somebody there can provide you with the info. I can ask later when I get home.

http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/ Would be another place to check but the forums covering your year burb is pretty slow on that site.

On my Burb, the third seat's beats are hanging from the roof top, next to the window, with the retainer(?) bolted off the wheel housing..
If this helps?
If not, I'll be only to happy to post a picture later..
ciao

53FC,

If you get a spare moment, I would really like to see a closeup of what is bolted to the wheel housing.

Thanks,
Tom
