I noticed an ATTRACTIVE young lady has had her Argosy stolen. I wish I was 20 years younger, not happily married, lived closer to Philly, AND she had poor eyesight & low expectations as I would like to help her out.

I hope she recovers her Airstream.

Find her Argosy and you might at least get to talk with her. I figure your chances are good for a 15 minute chat then the guy that took the photo would probably ask you to leave.
Crawdads and froglegs didn't have lead shot in them. But you can't beat good squirrel! ... er.., furry tailed tree rats. Eww...!
For years I would hunt squirrel on my parents farm on the Eastern Shore. Accoplished two things at once, squirrel stuffing for Thanksgiving Dinner and a few 100 less squirrels getting onto the barns for the winter! I would grind the squirrel meat in the sausage grinder and cook it just lke I would pork stuffing. Big hit with the family every year!

I guess I just have a weak stomach. I have said this many times to my lunch bunch that had both carnivores and vegetarians in the group. If I had to kill and then clean it before I cooked it, I would become a vegetarian! Buying it in the grocery store where it doesn't have a face (or guts) makes it a lot easier to cook and then eat than if it had them.

Ummmm - Deer sausage for breakfast this morning. Home made orange marmalade over biscuits and an egg. That will get the heart pumping today. BURP, oops excuse me - my tasty beverage of choice (COKE - it's the real thing) has me all filled up. Gotta get that caffene some how. Now, where is my salt shaker?
What do you mix with your venison to keep it from being so dry at cooktime?
Tom
2/3 deer 1/3 wild pig. Keeps the morning sausage just right and good flavor. Helps them brown up and not burn. For link sausage the mix is a little more rich on pig - wild pig does not have the fat content that farm raised does. I like the flavor better and I don't need to harvest so many deer as the pigs are easy pickings and local farmers are more happy to let you on their land after feral pigs than they are deer for some reason. Pigs tear up the property more and do lots of damage around ponds.
Got to watch those pigs - they are very protective of one another. Ever had a 400lb sow come out of the woods at you after you harvest a 75lb piglet (well OK not a piglet anymore but still family)? Can be lots of fun. I like my pigs to be under 100lbs - better taste. 80lbs is perfect. I have a friend that calls that size "suitcase" pigs. I asked him why suitcase and he told me "after you gut 'em, you tie the feets together and slide a stick in between - carry them out like a suitcase" I had a laugh at that one.
Baked by a non-Airstream buddy of mine, this bread would go well with any chicken-like dinner. He used the NY Times no-knead recipe. One has flaxseed and the other was made with dried plum and substituting in 1c whole wheat flour -- looks like it needed a teaspoon or two of gluten added.
Enough talk like that! Better go sweep out the garage. I don't think our southern buddies have experienced the dusty salt taste of doing this. (road salt from car drippings, guys...)
OK, I guess I know - most of you are prepping the trailers for a spring fling somewhere. Better yet - your out doing the lawn or getting outside enjoying life after the cold season.
My excuse - I'm at sea off Japan with limited internet access - nothing like typing responses 3 to 4 times to get it out in the thread when the connection fails.
OK guys keep this thread up - the ladies can't kick all of you outside to the curb - enjoy you spring - I hit the road in JUNE.
