Bigfoot and Casita brands?
Has anyone looked at or had one? The quality seems to be way up there on both, and like the Airstream no slides. The Bigfoot has more squared lines on top making it a bit roomier than AS. Looking at everything and anything that is quality in my search for a TT.

Friend has a Casita. They like it. Pretty small as the largest is 17'. Know nothing about Bigfoot. You should really look at Oliver Trailers. If you like the fiberglass construction style, they are VERY high quality. The Legacy II is the big one at 22'. Little expensive as they start at 55k and with many choices of options your going to be at about 70k. We looked at them before purchasing our 2017 Int. Serenity 23D. We could not get past the wet bath. Although, for a wet bath, it was the nicest we have ever seen. Happy hunting! The Olivers are made in Tennesee and you pick it up at the factory just like Casita.

RFP here on the forum had arguably the finest Casita out there before he purchased his 23D

We owned a 17' Casita and loved it. I still smile whenever I see one. Quality on par with Airstream (gasp)! Molded fiberglass construction superior in many ways to riveted aluminum. Some folk don't like carpeted walls (Casita), but it provided a warmer cocoon than Aluminum. Some don't like a wet bath, but we are used to such on sailing yachts. Had Oliver been in production with their Legacy II, (double hull construction) I am sure it would have been our choice when we decided that we wanted larger and bought our 2011 FC23FB (which we are quite happy with).

I can maybe help. I looked at a Bigfoot; believe the designation was 25FB25, this was as I was doing research for an "accessible" travel trailer for my now-disabled wife.
We've owned travel trailers for some 28 years or so, have been camping and RV'ing for about 44, so have some ideas about what works and what doesn't.
I was impressed by everything I saw in the Bigfoot, very well built. Nicely accessible: good space around the bed area, good accessibility in the galley, nice, comfortable mid-couch. In spite of the lack of storage space, I was becoming more sold by the moment... until I got to the bath. There was very little room for moving around to do, um, anything, and the step-in to the shower was very high and the step-in space was incredibly narrow. To put a light touch on it, if I'd coughed, my ears would have popped. Had they added a half foot to a foot to the length and put that all in the bath area, I would have bought from them.

Hey Brian, we considered other brands too a couple of years ago.
FYI the new search function in the blue box above works great, so I would suggest checking earlier threads for your search.
Good luck, and how about some new music on the OTRA music threads?
Cheers,
Peter

Thanks Ronnie... we were certainly proud of it, and I enjoyed doing the 'mods!'

Of course, while we really liked the Casita, we LOVE our 23D!

Yes, we owned a Casita for six years. We bought it new and then I proceeded to do a lot of pretty serious work to make it both look better and work better for us. They are super-simple little trailers, and a lot of people (mostly Casita owners) seem to confuse "simplicity" with "quality." The fact is that there is less to go wrong with a Casita than an Airstream. But, the overall build quality is no better than Airstream's. I could give you the whole laundry list of the good and the bad, but I'm sure there would be no surprises.

This week, I tried to get into a COE campground in Illinois, but it was full. There was a SOB rally of about 20+ trailers. (Award, made in Canada) I did not stop, as I still had the A$ in tow. I went to the next campground which had internet and looked them up. Very interesting, does anyone know anything about them?
I don't mean to be hi jacking this thread, but the talk was the comparison of Big Foot and Casita and Oliver was mentioned so I thought I would add another.

Thanks for that review, will take a close look at that (going to get to see one next weekend) How long ago did you look at the RQ? Is the bath in the pic about what you remember?

I did some searching but with few results, maybe I did it wrong but I usually use Google then put Airforums in the string.
I'll try to get back over to the music threads but I got so busy and I don't like to post anything without first looking back to see if it has already been posted....maybe even by me! That is pretty time consuming. OK I will go do it right now and what I am going to put up I will venture saying no one has put up or no one will even know it.

Award travel trailers went out of business in the 90s. They were a unique trailer with an aerodynamic design. I've seen a few on the road over the years and the gray fiberglass didn't age well when exposed to the sun.

I looked at the front bedroom (mid couch) about 5 months ago, now. The bath arrangement in the pic you show here looks about the same as the front queen coach I looked at.
I would suggest you try to close the door while you're sitting on the commode and see if it will even close for you. (My legs are short, and the door would not close.) Then lean forward a bit while standing up and see where your head goes. Try to make your typical maneuvers while you're sitting there, and see if you can do so without unnecessary gymnastics.
Also, try to step into the shower. In the front queen I looked at, I could not get into the shower without hurting myself.
I'm a fair test subject because my knees don't work all that well, and I was highly disappointed in the lack of maneuvering space in the head - especially because everything else seemed to be thought out so well.
Hope that helps.

Lots of nice features to be Seen in the Big Foot. I haven't gone into the bathroom of one tho.
RFP, I'm so glad that I clicked on your Black Swan link!
Stunning pics of your beautiful 911 there. Pretty amazing green shoes too.
There is something in the appreciation of classic iconic shapes that brings together airstreams and Porsches.
Cheers Richard

Richard !
Thanks a million for taking the time to look at my photos. Also, thanks for your kind compliments on the car. This is my forth Porsche, and it is - st least to me - something pretty special. It is a 1987 Porsche 911 M491... it is number 40 of only 62 produced in '87. The best part is that it looks like it was built this morning... the car is flawless; a consistent "car show" class winner and repeat PCA concours winner. And that's the whole problem... it's too nice to drive among the crazies and lunatics that clog up the roads here in North central Texas.
So, tell me about yours! I've stared at your great photo, but it's a bit small for my tired old eyes to really see what you've got. I'd like to know about the Airstream motor home, too... I know nothing about those.
Looking forward to hearing from you... I'll PM my e-mail address to you.
Thanks again,
Robert
