Is there really anything too tacky for a flamingo collection?

Unhappy Lacking Flamingo....

I guess I need to get to Big Lots....

We had a neighbor call us a couple weeks ago to ask if he could borrow a pink flamingo as a prop for a dinner theatre. He just knew we would have one because we owned an Airstream!!!

So far all I own is a pair of flamingo sunglasses.... guess I need to get in the groove.

OK, I'll Bite. What is the tie-in between Airstreams and pink flamingos? I've seen a lot of references to them here on the forum, but I don't know the history behind it. Just a "for fun" thing, a former marketing ploy? Somebody enlighten me, please!

Do you have "trailer courts" where you live? You know, the ones that have old trailers with the rusty skirting, a dirt yard with a couple of skinny mutts tied to an lawn mower, and some Camaros on blocks out back . Look hard and I betcha will find a faded pink flamingo somwhere around.

They are also a typical Floridian yard ornament, where they look perfectly tasteful and at home.

It's the very first thing I thought of to buy after I brought my AS home

...more than you ever wanted to know about PF's?

Are you kidding? As a Georgia native (a dieing breed) I can fully appreciate the idiom "caint swing a dead cat with hittin' a trailer park". There was almost a resurrection of the of the Confederate Army 'round these parts when GM stopped production on the Camaro couple years back. If'n you ain't got at least one family member livin' in a trailer or a Camaro, you caint claim to be a true Jawjun.

Now, lets see, I think the new Big Lots opened in the old Walmart, or was it the old Winn-Dixie....Gotta go, Bye.
