Bicycles, dogs, and gear

O.k. I know it's been covered before, but maybe there is some new wisdom/new discovery out there that would help.

With dogs in the cab, and gear in the bed of the truck, we have no room for the bicycles (cruisers). We don't want to buy folding ones. Anyone have any GREAT ideas?

I've read that putting a hitch mounted on the rear of the AS is bad for the frame on long units. Does that apply to a shortie (20ft) as well? Do they weigh that much more than a spare tire hanging off the back?

Any ideas are welcome, even the crazy ones.

one labrador and one doberman. They are both smallish for their breeds, but that only means 75-80 pounds instead of 90 each.

Why not put a trailer hitch on the front of the truck and use a trailer hitch bike rack?
