Some pretty lame attempts at humor. We stared switching over to the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet...

The super bowl commercials reflect our economy, a downward spiral
Must have been a bargain basement sale for a 30 sec. time slot on CBS

Too many guys in tightey whiteys running around for my liking, I guess I am just a boxer buy, although the Bud Light clothing donation commercial is great. The best one on the super bowl by far was the David Letterman commercial, short, sweet, funny, totally out of the blue with no need for obnoxiousness or beating one over the head. All in all I thought the commercials were generally not up to par this year.

What, you mean there were commercials, like in between game play?

AFTER FORTY LOOOOONG YEARS: THE CURSE IS BROKEN!

There aren't words to express what this means our local and regional community, folks. I know "its only a game" but the symbolic meaning is so much more to us down here since Katrina. Like Dr. John says, New Orleans is "the bestest and woistest of curses" but last night the sheer determination of our boys lifted us all up ten feet off the ground...the never say die attitude, the exemplary espirit de corps, the execution and team unity....yeah, we're a fightin' bunch of hardheads down here and many of us came back after '05 and rebuilt ourselves, we know how great this place is and weren't going to pack up and head for the hills, it was gonna take a lot more than some water and mud to scare us outta town...but since then we haven't really had one BIG THING to represent our determination and pride in our community: now we do. Thank you Drew, Marcus, Devery, Sean, Jeremy, Pierre.....et.al...

ok, off my soapbox, I'll calm down now... but before I do:

WHO DAT SAY DEY GONNA BE DEM SAINTS!!!!??

WHO DAT!!!???

And, congrats to you and your Saints on the victory, and in such thrilling fashion. Most folks I know who weren't fans of either team, were pulling for the Saints.

Plus, I have to root for the hometown Texas kid.

thanks, Marcus, you can keep sending us more Drews every ten years or so..we're cool with that....and thx to all for forgiving my mini-hijack...

we parents were watching the game with two 10 yr.old girls and the (unspoken) look around the room definitely was "arent there WAY too many commercials with men in their jockey shorts here????" thanks, Madison Avenue, you geniuses really rock....

my fave was the Betty White - Abe Vigoda one too..

but overall it seemed like the spots really weren't up to par...a weak year for SBowl commericals..but a great year for the Super Bowl!!

For us too, It's a toss up between the Doritos one w/dog and shock collar or the Clydesdales.

But one thing for sure: Superbowl=Baseball is coming!! YEA.
