We do not even celebrate it.
It is great for out little girls to get us stuff though.
Gotta love the wife all year long so she gets flowers and candy when she does not expect it.

...I take my wife and my daughters out to the mall, for a trip to the chocolate place . They get what they want, and we sit and eat the treats and talk. It is a tradition we started three years ago. There is as much joy in the picking as there is in the eating. We talked about vacation.

We then went to bath and body works, and got smelly soap and lotions.

Not expensive, but we enjoy it.

Legend says that St. Valentine wrote a farewell note to the jailer's daughter, who had become his friend, and signed it "From Your Valentine".
Then they chopped off his head. (Lesson: No good deed goes unpunished.)
My daughter said it’s a Hallmark holiday. (Lesson: Money makes the world go around.)
I took her out to dinner. (Lesson: Go along to get along because it's the best of all possible worlds.)

Coffee together early this morning, sunrise. . .a great start. Deciding together to buy a new tree to plant, a "Valentine's tree" for the start of our new gardens in a new home. A good day Different from Christmas, its own unique aura.

We don't celebrate it either. In fact I was at the store yesterday, and because I hadn't been thinking about the holiday I was shocked at how busy it was with people buying cards, balloons, and flowers - people who I've never seen in the store before! It's sweet, but I think there's something wrong when a holiday makes you feel obligated to do something you should do all year around. Looked like the retailers were having a good day though!

We also don't make a big deal.... but today I had a little extra time so I made some beef stew (from scratch like mom used to...) and stuck it in the fridge till dinner... because it's one of my hubbies favs and beef stew is more useful than roses. Then I had an appointment.

I got home at dinner time to discover that hubby had stopped by the store on his way home and fixed ME dinner (my favorites). DANG!

We had a great dinner and tomorrows is cooked as well... and no one has to dishes tomorrow.

Could not have been said better, Steph.
Not that I fault anyone for celebrating it.

We had a trip to the mall and stocked up on Bath and Body Works and Yankee Candles, mostly for the AS. Hubby made my favorite Kung Pao Chicken and surprised me with a nice arrangement.

Christmas was mostly for the kids and since they outnumber us...but as American Express would like us to believe...priceless. Easy for them to say.

65GT -- I hear ya on the Westminster show. Due to public outroar didn't the NFL have to stop broadcasting football games on Christmas day years ago? (only to resume Christmas late games again this last season) I'm gonna have to talk to the AKC!

Almost hit zzz-land before they got to best in show. Good thing I had a jigsaw puzzle going... . Now there's something for Vintage Trailer Supply to stock in Airstream themes.

As my Airstream license plate frame says, "Happiness is being single". Bought new battery without guilt.
