Axle shot on brand new AS

Well, I haven't taken it out of the box yet, but when I look at the axle position in the wheel well of my Hot Wheel Airstream Dream Vehicle set, the axle looks bad!

Didn't Hot Wheels restore these things before selling them?

Axle shot

I don't know if you should have Andy look at it. It may be a leaf spring axle. If it is, the axle position may be OK.

It looks like that model had leaf springs, so it doesn't matter.

And besides, that trailer is not going very far as it has 50 plus year old tires on it, and no running gear balance.

But it does have a non-suicide door.

Poor balance - accident

I checked the tires, but there was no mfg date. They seem to be holding air though, they're as hard a a rock.
Took it out for a test run, but flipped it on the first curve. Shoulod have had Andy balance the running gear!

There's those dreaded leaf springs.

Yeah, but did you have a full sway control hitch?

Perhaps the rig slipped on some ice.

shocks?

I tried to mount shocks, but they were too long. I was on my way to the parts store when the roll-over happened.

Mark:

You need to hurry up and settle with the insurance company and get your coach repaired. Your getting a little cabin fever going on there.

Angry ok, enough is enough

I also got one of those for CHRISTMAS but I thoroughly checked it out. Shooed the grandkid away to play with his boxes. I know that mine is unique and was quality built in China by prison inmates..
Mine bears the WBCCI number 2782. I also got a tow car with mine.. Did you?.. If you did not, it is because you were not a good boy/girl. Fess up now, what did you do to your Airstream while us experts were not looking?
Markdoane, i'd bet my last dollar that you did not employ proper safety chains. Serves you right.

Safety chains?

Safety chains are for sissies. So are breakaways and dual cams. I go commando!

Ok daughter if you are listening

Next year I want a Commando better than Markdoane has, and I promise not to roll my trailer over like he did.
But if I crash, for heaven's sake
get me help before I awake.

And as for you Markdoane

I see those notches on your Commando for every SOB you've ran over. Shame on you.

Commando

Actually, the 'commando' reference was from an old Seinfeld episode, re: going without the essentials.

You ford guys.

My GMC could squash that thing.

I also only paid a Dollar for it.

That's when it had the little tires on it.
