You could also ask Andy if he is thinking about another forum. If you look at the bottom of the page you will see that he has many other forums besides this one.

I think the point is all the quilters might enjoy a rally, or all the people who are musicians or fisherpersons. Some might enjoy the company of the accordianists, but others might not, so if you know others special interests, it can make the event more enjoyable. Not to be exclusive, but it would be nice to know if others are quilting covers for their Airstreams... or people that can machine their own billet aluminum stuff. It's a bummer to go to an event, come out as a quilter or an accordianist or a French car enthusiast, and have people get all quiet on you.

So, Joshua tree anyone?

Wherever you go, there you are

Not to sound like anyone should be excluded, but I have moderated a similar forum and we purged people who have not signed on in a year. This allowed current contributors to have the ability to communicate with people who regularly contribute or lurk on the forum. I don't know if this would work for this list but it would allow for a more accurate count of who is active and who just signed up for the sake of signing up.

I don't feel lost. The Group is growing just means there are more wonderful people becoming members. If you have an interest in a thread you will read it or create one of your own. And in the left box you can click on the person's name and get a profile. You can learn what Airstream they have and many other facts. If they interest you fine...if they don't move on. I have met many grand people on the Forum and am grateful to be one of them. Anne

Summerkid -- you aren't the first troublemaker 'round these parts. Look at this thread from last December -- Yes, there is a fluid nature to involvement and posting activity. I know why some folks have become less involved and do contact a few of them for good ol' info from time to time. I still miss them. As we stay active in our own way I find it easy to gain appreciations for new names and faces ... er, Airstreams.

Airstream Forums is moderated to maintain a good environment for information exchange. Sub-forums unrelated to Airstreams have been suggested (food, personals, singles). The rest of the web has that covered and that won't happen here. Quilters, hunters, pilots? Forum moderators (volunteers!) will not cherry pick non-Airstream or non-public info for these uses. The search function does not search out information in a poster's signature -- it's not Google, but then nobody is likely to buy this site for billions. Imagine the search hits on terms like GMC, Dodge or Ford!?!

The Off-Topic forum (any forum for that matter) will be actively managed and infrequently edited to remove contentious posts. This implies that a lot of irrelevant material remains standing. All posts that make any member unwelcome will receive our attention but not necessarily acted upon. Issues of sexuality have produced questionable exchanges and raised waves beyond this forum community in the past. They will most likely be reviewed. Members can complain about posts removed but they often don't see the final explosions that brought the topic down.

This is still a private site maintained by a specific set of rules and with a specific goal in mind. Making the web safe for Airstream talk -- for 40,000 hours!
