Argosyism. It's not the Alcohol, it's the insanity

So I drove 50 miles to N.C. to look at a 73 Argosy 24 that was on e-bay last week. Vern and Nancy Townsend were visiting, but missed my call so they didn't get to drive off the paved road, onto the gravel road, turn on to the dirt road, park and follow the path past the outhouse....

Now there's another one on e-bay in Colorado. A rear door model, which doesn't seem to be all that common. Only one more day to go. Looks decent. Any opinions?

You're right. The rear door Argosys are rare. This one looks great in the pictures and the sellers seem to be answering questions honestly. Looks like a good buy if the price doesn't go crazy. I would love to have it but I'm still working on my own 24 ft Argosy. This rear door one doesn't have all the storage mine does, and may need a tambour door fixed under the kitchen sink, but sure looks good in the pictures. Let's face it, it's a vintage trailer, some things will need attention. Love these Argosys.

Only 50 miles? You don't have it that bad, yet. Wait until you take a 2000 mile round trip to drag home a 40+ year old pile of aluminum between major surgeries, then you will know you have a bad case of Argosyism...Umm, wait... I did that...
Rear-door units are rare, and have interesting floorplans, and are certainly different from the rest of the herd. So, are you flying out to look at it, or driving?

That Argosy went for $4050.00 on ebay. Hope someone on the forum got it. Wish we could get winners of Airstreams on ebay the information about this forum. It would be interesting to see how their buying experience turned out and if the trailer lived up to the ebay advertising.
