Argosy for $800 in MI, I inspected it today

This is not really a classified, as I am not selling this. I just looked at it today, and the woman said she was going to put it on ebay in a couple days. SO...if anyone wants to know more, I can write out a better description. Just thought if anyone might be interested, I would pass this along.

1977 Argosy 24 ft, GVWR 5800 lbs

Exterior: Cream paint decent shape, banana paint bad. One HUGE Smashed part of banana wrap near step, where rodents got in. Large dent on rear bottom of trailer. BRAND NEW awning, fabric and the poles. One very flat tire that airs up but for how long?

Interior: Mouse damage, everywhere. Needs a extreme cleaning. Original interior intact but needs all new softgoods desperately. Front dinette, mid kitchen, then sofa/entertainment area, rear bath. No rear bath sag. One of the roof vents does not close properly. The vinyl wallpaper stuff is peeling or missing several places.

Appliances: typical they all worked last time I checked says owner, except fridge. I don't know, I did not try any.

She wants 800 now, and a 1000 if on ebay...to cover the fact she is going to pay someone else to put it on there. I just thought if someone was interested, well, I did a basic inspection. If you have more questions, just ask. I chose not to buy it because I did not want to mess with a flat tire as I am hugely pregnant and already have an Argosy that I just spent my whole summer fixing !

Hope this helps someone!

Sounds like a bargain if the two dents can be fixed. I've read of folks paying more and doing a complete gutting and starting from a shell.

It is in the Ann Arbor area. I will try to get permission to give out her phone number.

Probabaly a good deal for the right person. It needs a lot of cleaning mostly. Then again, I did not check the appliances, and things like brake condition is unknown. I don't see why it cannot be towed as it is, as long as that tire get fixed. She does have sway bars, etc. which is a plus. Like I said, if I was not so pregnant and the tire would have been fine I would have bought it myself. But I did not want to do a tire change along the side of the road....

Just tried to call her again. I guess if anyone on here is really, really interested, email me with your phone number I guess. I really hate to post her phone number on the web for all to see without her permission. I don't think my private message thing is working for some reason on here, but you could try that too.

Just got her permission to give out her email and phone #. So...if you are interested, email me direct through the forums. That will separate you from the multiple scammers that email me every single day!

What about all the OTHER stuff (exterior damage and a huge rodent mess)? Yikes, I would think the flat tire is the least of your worries!

You are right, it just seemed too overwhelming right now. I HAVE seen far worse trailers though!

Still, sounds like a good project trailer. Exterior panels can be fixed relatively easy and since it is an Argusy they can be painted so matching aluminum isn't an issue to the extent it would be on an Airstream. The other items sound like just refurbishment.

Good luck to those who are in the area and interested.

This does sound like a bargain. My wife will be glad to know it's in Michigan 'cause I'd be interested in it otherwise.
