Are you surfing the forums at work or home?

OK, I'm busy at work in the corporate world, and every time I get stressed or fustrated, one of the sites I hit the most often is this forum. It allows be to disapear in the aluminum, even if only for a few minutes....

So, It made me wonder, how many of you guys read or post on this forum at while you should be working?

I'll be the first to say that I'm guilty!!! I am indeed using compnay time and resouces to fufill my Aluminum needs...

For some odd reason, it's always easier and more fun to post a reply or new thread than draft that e-mail or report.....

So, tell me - how many times do you come onto this site when you should be working?

Never during "business hours" at work - it's not worth my job.
Having said that, I do frequently post at work. I work a 48 hour shift, and am allowed to take care of personal business after "8-5 office hours". Many times I'm too busy until late, when not too many folks are still on.
Most of my posts are done at home.

I'm working right now, and like you Bandit I find myself hiding here when the stress is getting to be a little over the top. Thinking and planning that next project is way easier than working throug that damn excell formula that isn't quite working to acurately analyze and forecast cash flow.

Don't tell anyone I work with though, none of them understand the fascination with aluminum.

At Work?

At work? Never.
Ha, ha.
Guilty on all counts. Besides, I do my best work at work. Not an issue w/ the bosses. They are great as long as the work is done. Glad I don't have over the shoulder bosses like some may have.

I do both. We have our own business, so I can do as I please.

I almost always post while at work. The boss does not care as long as all of the work is done. I have tried from home, but the computer is so slow is makes it hard to move between the pages. I also find this forum very relaxing during a stressfull day.

I too own my own business and have posted to the forum while at work. I am aware of some of my employees who spend quite a bit of time on the internet doing things unrelated to work. I'm sure if you'd ask them they'd also say that the boss (me) doesn't mind as long as the work gets done. That's because they have never asked how I feel about this. But trust me, most bosses and especially business owners do not generally appreciate having to pay employees to play on the computer. That time could be better spent cultivating new business or honing ones skills. Sorry...

GUILTY!!! I browse at work (usually on my lunch hour); almost never post though. My boss confessed after hearing/following our progress with Felix that he's "kinda, sorta" looking for an Airstream. The way I see it, I'm only making brownie points!

Usually after hours..."work" computer access is typically limited to a relatively slow cell modem

The State of Oklaoma blocks all forums from their network; however (get this) I can go to ebay and check on the Airstreams. I use to get on the forum, but then they put in this new program and it actually won't let me get on some sites that are required by my job. I also cannot watch any of the DVDs that the State sends out. Is anyone surprised?

I'm guilty as charged. Surfin' at work! Sometimes the computer is just working through some programs and I have to have something to occupy my time. I have also caught my supervisor checking out a few farm tractor sites so he can't say too much

It was pretty much the same scenario for the State of Delaware. I can't remember all the blocked catagories, but I do recall they screened out sex, drugs and rock & roll (music download sites), gambling and bomb construction. Because the nature of some investigations led to unusual places, I got a pass on the screened/blocked sites, but everything was still tracked.

Do you remember that software that allowed you you to hot key to another page if you saw the boss approaching, or those wide angle mirrors that mounted on your monitor in case someone approached from behind?

Me neither.

I surf at work all the time. I am hoping they will fire me so I can do something more rewarding, like work on Airstreams.
