Anyone else loose the forum today?
I was backed out most of the day. Not sure if it was just our firewall acting up or if the site was in b-fib.
Regards,
Eric

Network Outage at the Datacenter...
There was a network outage at the data center where the server is located. They have 1,000s of servers there and hopefully they will use this example as a lesson learned and we will not have to experience this again.
Sorry about the inconvience...
Andy

No problem Andy. My son worked at a local internet provided for 6 years until last December and I understand these things happen from time to time.

Andy,
Hope you didn't take it as a complaint. I'm in I.T. myself and was thinking that the problem was my Firewall again being it's usual PITA.
Thousands of servers?? Wow, that's a pretty large data center. Got a few air conditioners?
Thanks for the info.
Regards,
Eric

Not sure if it went down but the load times are very slow....
This has been like this for some time. I am not sure how much data is transfered at any given time. This may be the factor that is making load times very slow..
I shouldn't complain seeing how this is free. I am curious if I am the only one around that is noticing the very slow load times to each page I look at..
By the way I am on cable modem. so I am not on dial up.

Server strain...
I will be moving the forums to a new server in the next quarter or so. The one it is one now is starting to get stressed out. It is a 450Mhz Cobalt. I will be aquiring a dual Zeon 2.0 Ghz machine in the near future. I will also be upgrading the forum software at the same time. Then we should have a snappy upgraded forum.
Talk to ya'll soon.

Andy,
If you need any server space or anything, I have a couple of servers that you can re-direct off of during the transition if need be.
Anything I can do to help, let me know.
Regards,
Eric
