Unhappy Guilty as charged....

I accumulate old lanterns, stoves and oil lamps...current collection is somewhere in the neighborhood of 6 stoves about a dozen lanterns of different types, and 4 Aladdin lamps. Nothing I have is considered rare, but I enjoy cleaning them up and making them work again. Oldest lantern is a MilSpec from the Korean war, oldest stove is from the 50's. Not sure about the Aladdin Lamp it is a newer burner but I suspect it is from the 1930's...all glass.

i hear ya there!

you would love the model 2 C, it has a "hot blast" starting procedure. basicly you create a pool of raw gas on the burner and have a HUGE flame going while you wait for the stove to warm up the generator tube!

definately something you want to do outside!

our local coleman dealer has come up with a really neat kit for converting (reversable) table lamps to electric operation.

he sez "them things have burned allot of houses down!"

Hi John!

That 1922 stove with oven is pretty cool, we've just got one lantern and one stove (so far) inherited/liberated from my Dad (if I didn't take 'em, to the curb they were going, shame since they are both in great shape).

It's been a couple years since I "entertained" the family with the lantern. Last time I used it they were laughing at the screwy dance I was doing after it lit and proceeded to burn out of control. Which was followed by "What the h$#l are you doing over there?! Trying to burn the whole place down?" eminating from more than one source situated around the campfire, guess they didn't appreciate my effort of providing LOTS of light. Uh, where can I get one of those electric conversion kits?... sounds like a good way of retaining eyebrows. On that note, I'll quote Dr. Frankenstein's monster, "Fire BAD!"
