I had to build this Airstream carport (Air-port) to keep the kids in the baseball field next door from dinging it.

Sewer Hook Up...

I tapped into a clean-out that is in in the basement of the house by routing 4" PVC from the garage (which is attached to the house). If I ever need to dump at home I back up to the garage and using a FloJet RV Waste Pump Kit I run a hose from the pump to a fitting in the garage and pump out. Probably no more expensive than having someone dig out and attach a "dump station" in the line to the septic tank but I did not have to dig up the yard and was able to do it myself. Just hope the hose never "pops off" while I am pumping....

I can't pass on a chance to show off my handiwork. Attached is a pic of my "Air Port" which I am building. It is loosely modeled on the one in the Tennessee campground referred to earlier in this post. I am not finished yet (waiting on my metal roof to come in), but I sure slept better last night knowing that hail was in the forecast!

The Barn

Yes, there is a 1961 Safari in there. With the wood stove going strong I can actually get it up above freezing when the outside temperature is around zero. Also have room for vehicle parking and a woodshop.

ok, so this is an old thread but I am trying to plan....

My 30' 2014 bunkhouse will arrive in november...and I will have a concrete pad built by that point in front of back yard patio....

My conflict is that I want to shield it from rain, debris (trees in my back yard)...but I also like the idea of going outside on the patio and looking at the front door of the airstream.

I could just cover it with a pole barn with all sides open, or perhaps cover all sides but the portion facing the patio/house....

We (I) installed cedar slats down several feet from the roof. I can just walk under the slats, but they block all but maybe an hour of sunlight. Not a very traditional design, but we were looking for a design a bit more modern to match some existing structures.

I also like that design. It looks solid and simple yet nice to look at. Talking to contractors today. What are your dimensions and costs?
