Too soon to say whether September will work for us, but the cold is not a problem after being stranded in a blizzard for two days last year up near Niagara. We did head south as soon as the roads were cleared.

I play bass guitar, it's about the only thing my short, stubby fingers and arthretis joints can handle since the strings are wider apart. With me being originally from Louisvile, Kentucky, I can hadle Bluegrass and the various instruments. I think blugrass, BBQ and bourbon are a good combination!
Hey mandolinedave, you need to get you a longer trailer in your actuator picture or whatever it is they call it, that thing looks way too short and cramped!
I have been faking playing the guitar for about 5 years now. I think I felt if I bought a few guitars that cost alot of money that I would be able to learn by osmosis. Hmmm, even after 5 years I think I am between a beginner and an intermediate. Hopefully by the time I get to 50 I will be able to play some soothing blues.
Great thread to put my new plan. I'm going to put my Yamaha CP70 electronic grand piano in my airstream. For now, the trailer is not moving much. My son will move in with 3 guitars, mandolin and his girlfriend will bring her trumpet. Guess we need to find a semi secluded place. Will send photos. Figure we may be the only ones with a grand piano??
Thirty-five years of rock an roll electric guitar. Last five years, only slide guitar for blues and country. They say that even if you don't have a lot of talent, if you do it long enough, you'll eventually be able to play something.
Not quite sure who "they" are though.
I just heard that singer / songwriter John Stewart passed away this morning 1-19-08, of a massive stroke. There is a Chillywind blowing throughout the world of music tonight. I am going to put some of his music in the CD player as soon as I get out to my Trailer this evening and think about this this great man. Some may know him from The Kingston Trio, some may know him from his album Airstream Believer.
He was one of my top five male singer / songwriters and I will miss him. He has been a very viable writer to the end and not someone who rested on thier laurels.
I wanted to start this as a new thread but could'nt figure that out offhand.

I play clarinet, a little piano, and I am learning the 6 string banjo and the mandolin. My husband plays the 5 string banjo and harmonica. We enjoy playing around the campfire, but I always ask my neighbors if it is disturbing them. I also direct a men's barbershop chorus and sing lead in a barbershop quartet.
I ordered an accoustical electric bass guitar and should receive it in a couple of weeks. I think it will be good to have on times that I may not be able to plug into an amp or when we're sitting around a fire playing.
At home in the late evenings I practice playing while wearing haedphones so it doesn't disturb my wife while she's sleeping. During the day I tend to rattle the things hanging on the wall, I turn our living room into one big subwoofer.
