I am not a musician (my best instrument was the kazoo), but I live w/a whole household full. Husband-acoustic guitar, piano, drums; oldest son-bass guitar, youngest son-drums. We love just about all music in any form (I am partial to Josh Groban right now), Beatles, jazz, country, old musicals, longhair, you name it. I am wondering how many of you have ever seen what I will post below. The quality of the video on U-tube is not anywhere close to the actual, but it gives an idea of the creativity. Anyone in Austin probably has heard of these guys. I actually saw it first one on a PBS show and thought Oh, my gosh!!!!!!! If you go to the website, you can get a download that is probably better. This particular one is one of many. Hope you enjoy.

Just came across this thread and haven't read all the previous posts.
I tinker around with acoustic guitar, elec. guitar, and more recently banjo as well as penny whistle, harmonica, fiddle etc. I am pretty much crap on any of them and just do it for my own amusement! Its fun!
After trying to learn some three finger bluegrass picking, I am now focusing on five string clawhammer banjo "Old time" music and really enjoy it.
The banjo will go on RV trips for the forseeable future, hope I don't annoy folks too much!
We have really been enjoying bluegrass festivals and camping in the AS. We even made it to Telluride CO. this year. What a blast! I would love to play with the pickers sitting around during the festivals but it is so hard to lug the piano around. Trying to learn the guitar.

My husband has a hard time leaving his studio behind when we camp
We usually end up w/at least a guitar and my youngest son will bring a tabla or djimbe drum. We've had fun times when 3 or 4 people will gather around that drum and have quite a thumpfest. (they keep taking away my kazoo and losing it)
If we could only tie 2 trailers together, he would have the studio in the 2nd one for sure. and my 2 boys would be jumping up and down in it!! (as seen below)

Nothing more fun than good food, good music and great friends.
We found all of this 30 minutes from our home. It is amazing that a short trip in a trailer can relieve so much stress!
I am just looking for now. Trying to gather as much info as possible to aid in the decision process.
I have just pared down the instruments from 9 guitars to 2. Trying to figure out just what I might need on the road. I won't leave home without a dog and a guitar.
