Another expansion at the mothership planned

Interesting thoughts on growing product lines, improved quality and state of the art training with the expansion...

Hopefully this announcement will help/stop the falling THOR stock prices and getting it to start back up.

Best regards and safe travels

I'm not sure when the announcement was made but the stock is up about 12 points since noon today, closing at 133.

And about time Airstream setup a Museum without calling it a Museum. Always made me sad to see Wally's Gold trailer and others, just setting outside in the weather.

"Airstream’s current Jackson Center facility has long been a popular destination for Airstream owners and other tourists seeking a glimpse inside the company’s hand-made manufacturing process. A new Heritage Center will enhance those visits with exhibits illustrating the company’s 87-years of inspiring adventure, and help drive regional tourism in nearby communities. Plans call for the display of numerous classic and historic Airstream products, including artifacts from the relationship between Airstream and NASA’s space program."

Hopefully they will spend a little to update and upgrade the Terraport.

I think the Terraport is kind of charming!

I've never been to JC. Is the terraport the three circular pads, as seen from Google Maps, where AS are parked?

Just curious.

Yes, 3 circles with 8 sites per circle. All are full hookups and free when having service performed. There is a small fee if just staying there. It is basic, but it is also Jackson Center.

Thanks for the original post. Thor is doing a major investment. That says much about the expected future of Airstream. It also speaks well for our trailers holding their value. . . .and a little quality control training can't hurt.

What needs upgrading at the Terraport is the location of the sewers. They are at the rear of the sites, but many years ago the sewer attachments on Airstreams were moved to the middle. When at the Terraport about 10 years ago, I had just enough extra sewer hose to reach. Otherwise, I thought it was a nice little campground and a lot nicer than some I've had to pay for. Even 10 years ago the wifi worked and you can't say that about a lot of campsites even today.

I never realized why the sewers were in that location! I have a 2012 and wouldn't know how earlier trailers are constructed.

But I agree with you - I like the Terraport setup. Sure, it's kind of tight quarters but there's something comforting about it...can't quite put my finger on it....

My 75 has the sewer connection on the side of the rear bumper. The teraport works great for us.

But Richard, if you stay at the "teraport" you have to learn how speel it.

And if you buy a Nash, the sewer connections are further back, though they may not let you in. I thought you were looking for a newer trailer. How's that going?

Not supposed to be any objection to SOBs. Call and ask, but I think they want you to be exposed. The virus takes a couple of weeks for some and years for others. Sun glasses are reported to help, just watch how you go on cloudy days and at night. Pat

I have seen an Avion being repaired at the mothership but didn't see it in the terraport.

Wonder if one would be welcomed?

I had some friends meet us at the terraporto (an improved spelling, I think, Gene) with their Casita for a night. They were welcomed and attracted the kind of attention we airstreamers usually get at other places.
