If she gets bored with retirement, maybe I can rent her out for lawn care...

It did give me some time to work on the trailer. Rear end is cobbled together, so it won't fall off on the way to Ohio, and new wheels and tires installed, along with new awning arms. Now, I only need a couple of replacement mirrors, and another couple days' work putting everything back together.

I guess he didn't see me side swipe the direct tv dish! At least I missed all of the trees and most of the bushes!

No, I saw. I also picked up the chunks of concrete from the impact.

My brother discovered, to his chagrin, you could mow down small trees with that tractor...

Peeked in to see but found no recent updates. I've often caught myself wondering how the two of you, especially Marie and the pup that missed it's daily visitor, are doing. Haven't met either of you but like many others, I feel like I know you a little.

Marie is doing okay, though a new issue seems to have cropped up.
She has started suffering from vertigo, sometimes pretty severe stuff. She was driving around, walking, and getting out quite a bit, but she is again limited to hanging around the house, with the occasional trip to the corner market or doctor's office.
Things are interesting, both here and at work. One of my coworkers has taken ill, and the prognosis is not good. I had posted about it on the forum, but it was removed.
I am planning to take my nephew to scatter my brother's ashes, as my brother requested, later in the Summer. Hopefully, Marie will be up to the trip, and the co-worker will be able to come back to work, so we aren't short two people when I have to go.

My husband spent 6 debilitating months before finally being diagnosed with Vertigo, among other balance related problems. We finally got him to a great doctor who treated it by putting him through some odd exercises in the office and at was then told to continue them at home. He also prescribed Valium and Meclizine for a week or so to help things settle down. He was SO much better and could finally drive and move again without becoming extremely ill. I hope she finds relief very, very soon. I also hope your coworker is back at work soon and their health is restored! Many blessings to you and Marie!

My Dr ordered the meclazine too, and if it's not significantly improved by Oct when I go back, I will be going to vertigo therapy. The little doo dads in my middle ear have taken it upon themselves to move, especially if I roll over in bed with out holding my head still and causes dizziness. I try to remember to hold it a certain way, but once in a while I don't quite hold it right and get dizzy. I refuse to drive if I feel the least bit dizzy.

If the medal don't work the exercises surely will. Flipping and fast head rolling seem like craziness but really do work. They'll get you straightened out soon!

For those keeping track, my co-worker returned to work for a few hours today. It was about all she could do to stagger out to her car, crawl in, and drive home. We did get a text later from her, that she had made it home.

Terry's beloved Marie is in the hospital, and needs the thoughts and prayers of every one of us. She has been diabetic for quite some time and her kidneys were failing rapidly. When she went to her nephrologist Momday he sent her to the hospital due to fluid retention and with IV medication she rapidly improved. "I lost 4 lbs. yesterday and am doing it again today!" she gleefully reported to me when I called her

Since she was already in the hospital, the decision to put in a dialysis port was made. I spoke to her yesterday and she was upbeat and looking forward to a return to more normal health. As a nurse, Marie has no illusions that dialysis is easy or simple, but knows it is the only treatment available.

She went into surgery today but as of about 5:00 pm failed to come out of the anesthesia normally and was moved to ICU. She is on a respirator. Terry is by her side.

I hope that while she has many medical challenges, those problems are merely slowing down her body's ability to rid itself of the anesthesia and that some time tonight or tomorrow she will gradually improve.

I was just visiting them in Winston-Salem last week and while it was difficullt for Marie to go anywhere we were both looking forward to her gradual improvement and doing little normal things like having nonfat lattes at Starbucks plus driving through the ritzy sections of old Salem and seeing the mansions of the gilded age. Marie's spirits were remarkably resilient as usual.

Please pause for a moment or two to pray for them both.

Paula

Such good, good people, both Terry and Marie, and I am so sorry to hear of Marie’s illness.

Terry, a big hug for you and please pass one on to Marie.

You will be in my thoughts, and wishing you both strength.

Maggie
