Where _____ at? It should be where is _____? It's even the same number of words, people! Your not saving anything by using non-standard English!!!

While not a phrase, the bill on a ball cap is supposed to face forward.

Ditto to crusty for "no problem." Especially when you genuinely tell someone "thanks" or thank you for something and the response is... "no problem."

And... yeah.

(Really, I mean add: "...and... yeah.")

"It was like that when you loaned it to me." (Usually in reference to some item that you have rarely used, lovingly maintained, and never loaned to anybody before)

"....ah, um...."

Counted this once in a political science lecture 'way back when'. Poor old professor used this 114 times in 60 minutes. I have no idea what the topic was that day.

Wow, so glad this thread has been created.

My sis-in-law always says 'believe you me....' arg!

People using the work 'epic' to describe something they did. No. The Hindenburg was epic. The battle of Gettysburg was epic. Robert Scott's journey to the South Pole 100 years ago was epic!......The party you went to last night....probably not so epic.

"..and what not...."

I'll be back later when I think of more. I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to grammer.

Oh, one more. Improperly using the word 'literally'.
A few days ago, someone told me that she studied so much that her head was 'literally' spinning.
I told her it still looked like it was attached in the normal fashion.

Doesn't need to be a phrase -- I'm just sick of everything and everyone being "amazing." Remember when they were "awesome?"

Ideal.

Example: "Hey, that's a good ideal."

I thought of that one just now after I looked across the yard and saw my in-laws. They are the worlds worst (probably not literally) at using improper English and pronunciation. I could fill five pages of this thread with just their language.

There's regional ones, and there are work-related ones.

For example, Navy Gunny might

(hunch over after looking right then left and say)

"Now, this is no sh*t:" then go on to tell you the most outrageous story.

1-Girls that refer to famous singers, actors, etc. as "My man".

If he is your man, why do you have to buy a ticket to go see him?

2- when somebody says something and follows it up with "said no one ever".

3- all the stupid Willy Wonka sarcasm pictures everyone using.

4- When somebody asks something like "Dinner and a movie?", followed by "I think I will!!"

How bout when someone says " ok, I'm gonna be honest with you...."
What have you been up until this point? And how do I know when you quit being honest again? You didn't announce it when you were dishonest with me...
