"You may have heard through the grapevine..."

No, I hear through my ears...

"Just sayin..."

Hi, these make me want to slap someone.

Um, Um, Um, Um, Um, Um, Um,

You know, You know, You know, You know,

They can't just say it once, they have to repeat it fifty times.

"Just sayin"

if you say something rude followed by "Just sayin" then own it! Own What you say, say what you mean. Saying "Just sayin" is a cop out! Own it!

Thought of another.

Being interrupted when I have a mouth full of food or when I am in the middle of a serious conversation at dinner and the server asks "how' everything tasting?" or "How's the first bite tasting?". Usually after they leave it happens again by another server then the host. How did this start in restaurants? Who told staff it was a good idea.
Drives me crazy!

I still remember my English teacher, Mrs George, whenever someone would say "wheres Joe at" she would always say, "behind the at"

While not phrases, improper words such as "orientated instead of oriented",
jutebox in place of jukebox and sammich instead of sandwich. (The Earl is also rolling over in his grave.)

Being in the trucking business, from the very beginning I heard "times are gonna get better". Guess what. The older I got, the harder I worked until the day I retired. Sal.

he done real good...

I'm doing good...

you did good...

she ate real good...

you done good...

It is not so much the misuse of do, done, did , doing, it is the replacement of the correct word well for good. This seems to be a rule of American English these days.

The Canadian and European folks may not understand this one since it's an election year in the US.

""I'm (insert politician's name) and I approve this message".

The mute button on our television remote is almost wore out from these ads.

"Whatever."

"Excuse me," when they really mean, "Look out, coming through," as they invade your personal space. This one was especially annoying when I spent four months hobbling around on crutches.

"Can I help you?" Don't know. Can you? My aggravation with this one got to the point that my knee-jerk answer has become, "No. I'm beyond help."

I got aggravated with the checkers at my grocery store always asking me if I wanted to buy "ice or stamps" (driveway salesmanship) and I made up the following smart ass reply "No, I quit mailing ice because it just wasn't working out".

I think I recently posted that I was about to "pull the trigger". Sorry to have caused pain.
