discounts?
well kinda sorta but not really.
there were some coupons for edibles for the local town festival that weekend.
and the factory tour was free (as always)
and folks who buy stuff in the store
right after going on the tour,
are supposed to get a 10% discount (i forget to ask 4 it every single day...)
the store had BUNCHES of stuff set out to buy, sorta 'factory clean out/garage sale style'...
-for example 4 cases of essentially NEW water pumps were available for 15$? each...
-and lots of discontinued lighting fixtures for 5-15$ (mostly classic styles)
-and some 'scratch n dent' parts taken off in the service center
(i purchased a new euro stove vent/fan/light) for pennies on the dollar.
-they had cases of tee shirts/accessories for discount, LOTS of this stuff.
-they had wheels and tires and interior cabinetry and furnishings also available at ONE TIME ONLY pricing.
(the 2000$+ leather lounge chair marked down over a 1000$ was still available afterward)
_________
basically the gals running the store got out EVERYTHING they could find to sell,
and we grabbed it ALL up like locus devouring corn.
_________
i suspect they did NOT expect to sell so much stuff and will be even BETTER prepared next go around.
and technically ANYONE walking into the store could enjoy this savings,
so registration for 'da thang' wasn't required.
__________
also the ability to schedule AND have repairs/service done WHILE there is a big BONUS imo.
along with the free coffee and sweet treats.
__________
parts/supply vendors were not there with display tables like often done at BIG gatherings...
but there were artists there selling stuff (artstream and some jewelry merchants)
david winick was there and had his CUSTOM screen door things
and BUNCHes of real vintage/retro niknak stuff that vanished quickly.
it would NOT surprise me to see MORE vendor booths next time,
but i'm sure the organizers will be clever about HOW this is set up...
(skymed and the wb' had tables/booths)
and since we're on this topic....
