Airstreams (tiny) On EBay

I recently got interested in N Scale model trains.

I found this on Ebay and bought one. It is very nicely done.

The same seller has a couple other N Scale Airstreams. One has an older ford pickup for a TV.

Z Scale is the smallest (1:220). N scale is 1:160

Here is a link with the different scales:

Model Train Scales

The trailer is the picture is 1 1/2 inches long. It is supposed to be a 22 foot trailer.

That's pretty neat! I have been wanting to play around with building dioramas out of scale train pieces, but there is no place nearby to buy the stuff - it would have to be all mail-away. Looks like fun though, and at that size, you could build quite a scene without taking up much space!

Here is your Diorama - ready made. Does this look like anything you've seen before?

Go Big Or Go Home

1:24 Scale Franklin Mint Airstream
They call it a SOTR but as Rob Baker would be quick to point out it's not actually a SOTR just a Sovereign. 5 panel end caps.
The awning rolls out, raises and lowers. Door & screen door opens, so does the fridge & freezer door and the closets open as well as the bathroom slider door closes. It has a removeable roof to let you see inside.
The manual tongue jack also works to level the trailer. Sadly no stabilizer jacks.

Chris,
That is a nice one. I wouldn't mind finding one, but not at the $375 that the one on EBay is going for. I'll have to wait to stumble upon one at a garage sale.

Here is a link to a review and pictures.

Ken I think you'll have to look long & hard to find one at a garage sale. I saw that link too and the original issue price was $295.00. I got mine on E-Pay and and paid $350.00.
Now I need to find a 1:24 scale TV from 1968 to go with it.
There is a guy on E-Bay who rigs up diecasts w/ trailer hitches.

So it sounds like everything is a pretty accurate representation of the actual one huh? Including the removable roof that you are planning on installing in one of your rigs?

That would be a first I'm pretty sure. Convertible top Airstream. Pretty sure the trailer would be more slightly-monocoque than semi-monocoque at that point.
