Airstreamless for a week!

It's not a big deal unless you're a fulltimer, but yikes! I went to Arizona from the 12th through the 19th to have a week with my sister and cousins. 2500 miles would have taken about 5 days minimum each way... and for only a week there it didn't make sense so I flew.

I had a great time, but almost every day I thought, wow, if I had the Airstream we could stay overnight at.... Meteor Crater, the Grand Canyon, etc, etc. etc.

Anyway while I was gone, I let my niece, her husband and son stay in my Airstream in Virginia Beach. They had a great time, and left the Airstream pristine... and my 2 year old nephew even helped me put the blocks under the stabilizer jacks when we set up the campsite. That boy has the Airstreaming gene!

Next year I'm heading to Utah or Northern Arizona and taking the Airstream! This country is too pretty to just drive past at 70 mph. I did see several Airstreams on the trip including a 34' Classic parked north of Sedona and three new 25's. I also spotted a Silver Streak in Cottonwood, way back from the road just off 17.

It's REALLY good to be home and sleeping under aluminum though.

My home campground, Indian Cove in Virginia Beach has FIVE Airstreams in it for the holiday weekend: One classic motorhome, an older 31 footer with faded WBCCI numbers, a 25 classic FB, a 25 Safari and mine. This is a record - and three are 2006 models. Hmm. Looks like Aluminitis to me. Met one owner who also lives in Va. Beach and turned him on to the forums.

Well, I'm headed home now, so good night.

Paula

Good for you Paula! I experience separation anxiety and it's you that's the fulltimer. Glad you're back "home."

Paula,

We stayed at Meteor Crater last spring and have not seen a prettier sunrise......absolutely amazing colors. one of the pictures from that morning is still our avatar.

Paula,
I know how that feels!
I was without my home for three weeks while it was being repaired.
I felt like a gypsy. It felt good to get back into her.

While we don't live in ours, we do camp a lot. I always feel good in my traveling home.

Welcome back to yours.
