Arrow Airstreamitis.

Merry Christmas to all.
Her I am, Christmas morning. My lovely wife sound asleep at 5:00 Am, and I am fighting Airstreamitus. Common to many of us As owners disease. As some of you already know, we are restoring frame up 26' 1973 Arg which we have purchased in September 2006. Because of unusual work load at my boat business, I have fallen behind the schedule with my restoration. While the new Stainless Steel frame is done and ready I am facing many other issues.
I get up at 4:00 or 5:00 Am each day to carefully plan each step in order not to corner myself in the process of restoration. Early morning is my best time to think before my head gets clogged with business schedules and it's coordination which starts 8:00 Am.
With the new belly pan prepared for installation and all the 12 Volt and 110 Volt wiring in place, my gray and black tanks were not yet delivered by my supplier, which throws a new monkey wrench into my scheduled process.
The aluminum coated plywood floor is not ready because of the tanks.
Cannot remove the inner skins to install Prodex in the shell, because the floor is not complete, therefore I cannot move the shell from the yard.
So here I was 5:00 Am Christmas morning trying to decide what to do next until the tanks come in and realized two things, it is not that simple, and that I must have acquired a new disease which I named the Airstreamitus, confirmed by the urge to get up so early especially on a day like today.
I have not done this with my race boats during my days of racing.
Next, I will try to figure out why owning AS can be so deeply involving. Thanks, "Boatdoc"

Hang in there, Boatdoc! Sounds like you have a level-headed strategy and approach to your restoration job. Maybe Santa was good to you and brought you something for your AS. Our children just finished opening their gifts and Santa brought them alot of "stuff" for when we are "in camp". My wife and I also got some neat stuff from Santa, including Airstream pajamas, some new flamingos, AS bedsheets and a new flat panel television for the AS bedroom! 2007 is shaping up already!

Get on with it.

Stop your bellyaching and get to work. It is an Airstream not a Piano.

Glad to hear I am not the only one who is up at 5 planning and typing.

Merry Christmas Jim

Too Much Fun

Oh ya, it's 6:30 and I have already visited my resto project and posted to the forums. Got it bad. I hope they don't find a cure too soon, I'm having fun.

It's Christmas Day for cryin' out loud! What's the matter with you people? Haven't you got a life? That's why I'm not here too! And I'm SO glad I'm over my aluminitis. I don't have to worry about Airstreams anymore. That's why I spotted a '66 or '67 Caravel the other day. That's why I need to go do a close drive-by this afternoon on my way to Chicago to see if it's for sale, or see if I can locate and cajole the owner into selling it. See? I'm completely over Airstreams. I can quit any time I want. Honest...

Merry Christmas everyone!

Roger

Honestly, I don't have a problem

Here in NC on this Christmas morning, it is pouring the rain. I have been out to the antiques and relics in the yard, checking for leaks. With a bucket here and a bucket there, the Airstreams are dry, without even a care. With sunshine will come a ladder and I'll climb, with Parabond in hand, the leaks I will find. Looks like I have a few projects ahead of me.

It is pouring rain here in Jacksonville this very gloomy Christmas Morning. Due to other commitments of SuEllyn's brothers, we did our main Christmas dinner yesterday. This was a good thing considering the weather. We are here in Daddy's yard in the Airstream listening to the rain beat upon Lucy's roof. All is right with the world. We are really sick, aren't we?

My husband, Bob, and I have spent Christmas morning out winterizing our Argosy. We know what's important in life! Also got lots of neat tools to work on our baby with. Bob thinks I got them for him, hum???? And, Balgrn......I think we all want another ONE, you just carry it to the extreme.

I am so fortunate that I've been able to avoid the Airstreamitus that so many others suffer from. I've only been out to the trailer twice today, just of course to sit inside and look around as it's tucked snugly in the shop and drink a couple of mugs of hot tea. Okay, so maybe I did pick up a few things and move them around but that's just because I wanted to finish my tea and not to just to spend more time in it, before my wife got up and wanted to do silly things like Christmas breakfast, open gifts (oboy, more things from Santa for the trailer - yippee), and call family and friends and wish them Merry Christmas. Yep, I'm pretty glad I've managed to avoid any kind of fascination with the aluminum bullet out back

Merry christmas
Barry
